hi everyone on actiontrip,

i have a question about the movies aired in us tv.
i just wanted to know about the situation.
are they always uncut...?and is there a specific time they will be aired?
or can you watch action movies in afternoon in the normal tv...

here in germany the situation is this:
a movie which is rated 16 can only be shown after 22:00 (when a movie is shown before its not uncut, which means they delete "brutal" scenes)
a 18 rated only after 23:00... (mostly cut anyways)

there was also the movie "the rock" (normally rated 18) aired on 20:00 and they erased about 12 minutes to get a 12 rating...insane :D

is it also true with the advertisements...i have heard that all 5 minutes the movie will be interrupted for one spot...
here in germany the advertisements comes in a block with 5-8 minutes about all 30-40 min (depends on the movie.....late night sometimes no ads at all)

what about boobies and stuff? is it true that there is nearly nothing shown in us tv...and when, they are censored with these pixelasation or the black bars...?

and what about regular movies on tv...do the tv stations delete the scene which contains boobs?

here in germany thats no big deal.

Movies have nudity removed completely, some TV Shows (Jerry Springer and others) have the nudity blurred/pixelated/barred out. Most movies have violence left intact, save for maybe a few with particularly gnarly scenes. Cursing is dubbed over with less offensive but often nonsensical replacement dialog. The severity of the censorship depends on whether its Network TV (over the air, available to anybody) or Cable TV (only available to people who pay for Cable TV service). Cable stations have more freedom than Network stations, premium channels like HBO, Cinemax and the like don't have such restrictions because they are special channels that you specifically subscribe to.

TV Shows probably average ~2 minutes of commercials per break, with three breaks in each 30 minute show and six breaks in each 1 hour show (30 minute shows end up being ~24 minutes of actual content, 1 hour shows end up being ~48 minutes of actual content). Movies probably have longer commercial breaks, but I've never really timed them.

thats intersting...
no nudity....here in germany all think that in US you see no nudity at all but all the action/ and bloody splatter stuff...

in germany there is no dubbing over the speech...

Violence is certainly more acceptable than nudity here...unless it's a video game, because we all know game violence is far more realistic than movie violence... ¬_¬
