Pretty good I must say, but I listen music of my PC while I work so I need something better, plus I love bass. The high's are pretty weak and bass isnt as detailed as I'd like.

i see.. i like high bass too.. they wont let me test the damn things first.. i asked them if i can stack both the 5300 and 6600 together but they said its box packed and we cant open it unless u buy it.. and ofcourse i said.. WHAT THE FUCK?!?! damn!.. are they good for a 8*12 feet room.. ?!?

You can check the stats, if 6600 have more wattage then they will be mo powerfull, only thing I'm thinking those digital 5300 maybe be of a higher quality = better sound.

And yes it can fill that room np, personally I never listen even 50% of max volume @ 75% they start losing quality though.

Huge in your face distorted bass= Logitech. Tight, controlled, accurate bass= Klipsch.

hahaha. I would get a set of Creative 6.1 Megaworks instead of Klipsch then. Not the hissing Logitechs. who cares if its digital if it hisses like a mother fucker?

U guys have managed to convince me to purchase a simple dual bass headphone.. instead of those muthafucking speakers coz of 2 facts.. i aint got the dough and i am saving up for a new comp this summers.. secondly, u say analog sound sucks.. so i will get the megaworks or sony system later.. when i do have the dough.. after my purchase of the comp.. anyways thanks for playing along.. !

MAn, you really know shit about them so stfu, first of all yes the early logitech's had hissing in the cp, but they are being fixed and the ones I got had none and bass is clear and muthafuckin powerfull, we're talking room shaking, dogs barking, cat killin and neighboors bitchin thing.

Default bass is to much for say music especialy Mp3's since they are low quality, DVD on the other hand just rocks with almost full bass aswell as do games, I tried the Attack of the clones, the episode with seismic charges and whoa!!!, full bass, zero distortion and ground shakes.

And no distortion @ 100% volume.

But since we're on technical side, Klipch tend to break down quite often, go around audiophile forums and you'll see that some odd 75% of Klipch fuck up.

WhoGivesARatsAss: You would probably get a higher quality headphones for the price of Inspire's anyway.

the klipsch 4.1's/5.1's hissed because of a faulty crossover (explained before) when adjusting the volume. u know how much a fix from klipsch costs? 50$. 50 fuckin dollars to fix the speakers. i played with the 680's a week and a half ago. extremely bassy, but the high's are far from distorted.

no distortion is impossible. are u tellin me the THD is 0%? and the audigy has a 100dB SNR, btw.

ReDeeMeR
May 12th, 2003, 06:11 PM
Yes, full volume and zero distortion man, well I have my windows settings at 85% but speakers were at full and creative proggy was 100% to :D

I fired up Queen: Show must go on, a very high quality mp3(20mb). (They still rock me btw ;) ) And I couldnt hear any sound distortion and I still cant hear anything after that test :D

Btw, how the hell do you test them??? Do shops in US give you stuff to test @ home or sometihng?

Btw, 100db is "nothing" the FX-flow has 60db noise man.

sushi128
May 12th, 2003, 06:50 PM
hey, i know you're not talkin out of your ass, but 0% THD is VERY hard to believe. and since the audigy is doin 100dB SNR....you're gonna get a decibel of "noise" for every 100dB. it'll be more noticeable at the high range.

ReDeeMeR
May 13th, 2003, 11:20 AM
Well I really couldnt tell any distortion, plus I dont think audigy has anything to do with speaker volume level.

sushi128
May 13th, 2003, 04:21 PM
audigy has an SNR of 100dB. has a lot to do with quality.

ReDeeMeR
May 13th, 2003, 07:03 PM
Yeah, but how the hell does a soundcard affect the sound volume??? Can you proove/explain? From what I know it's purely speaker side.

sushi128
May 13th, 2003, 07:09 PM
the audio processor is on the audigy. from what i understand, SNR is "signal to noise ratio" (self explanatory, really). now, yes, the amp in the sub of multimedia sets doesn't have to do with the sound card, but the card DSP processes the original signal. SNR relates the largest (amplitude) signal that can be handled by the card compared to the amount of random frequency noise that you hear. my point is, it's hard to get a perfect signal from something like a PC sound card. sorry if i went off the topic of distortion (when i read your post i thought of noise; i realize they're two completely different things).

edit: oh, forgot to add; when you amplify the signal you amplify the noise too

ReDeeMeR
May 13th, 2003, 09:23 PM
Ok, thanks, maybe you're right, cause I really dont know much about it, just that souncard having effect on volume is pretty damn weird, but o well.

Yeah I know you can get a btter sound system for coupla gram, system that's 100% devoted to sound and only sound, but I dont think there can be much of a difference, you'd need a really high quality record like DVD Audio to hear a difference between 5000 speakers and PC speakers and I dont have that much dough and time(I listen to music while I work on ma PC and watch DVD's there to).

May 13th, 2003, 09:31 PM
yeah.....or if you pump it up to the point where "room shaking, dogs barking, cat killin and neighboors bitchin thing" is the way to describe it :)

Yep and the bass is weaker even though more controlled than the Logitech ones. There are definate advantages to having the logis over the Klipsch ones thats for sure. Just sheer bass output of the the logitech ones are impressive regardless of quallity.

I just tried high quality MIB2 song, still there wasnt any distortion @ full volume.

Although the creative sound problem is much more noticeable in Battlefield 1942, cracks and shit really stands out as do other sounds like gun shots from this game, pretty damn annoying, tried all the new drivers(and beta ones) and there's still some cracks there and there :(

btw, i'm sure this is obvious to most of you, but DO NOT USE MP3's to test speakers!!!! christ, my friend was telling me how bad by 641's are while playing a 128kbps MP3

ReDeeMeR
May 14th, 2003, 05:28 PM
Yep, Mp3 make Logitech speakers look pretty bad, I was using 320Kbs version, but I must say MIB2 sounded pretty good even in 128kb compression.
