Ok a little of what happend in the last 15 minutes. I turned my computer on and my 120 gig Western Digital SE starts making lawnmower noises. But I have another HD in there so it might have been that one but I don't think it was since it shouldn't have been running. Well anyway I turn my pc off to take the secondary one off just to be sure.

Unplugged. Hit the power switch. Nothing happens. Hit it again and again franticly. then give it a nice carressing touch to try to get it to turn on. The fucker just sits there and doesn't turn on. Well I unplugged everything and let it sit for a second and turned it on and now everything works fine.

But its got me scared now, what the fuck was that? Does anyone have any ideas on what could have caused it to do that?

Could be the power supply.

Yeah I was sortof thinking it might be that. I need to upgrade to a nice NForce2 mobo and DDR ram but I want the best ram and I can't afford it yet.

I'm very much inclined to agree with sushi; these things just do something weird every now and then. If it's not an ongoing issue, then I wouldn't worry about it. BTW, you DID disconnect the AC from your PC before messin' around inside, didn't you? (Repair shops LOVE it when you don't...)

I dunno if I did or not. Probably I didn't I don't really think it matters though. I know what I'm doing when it comes to hardware (I think) and have never had breakdown problems except for this most recent one.
