Actually, it's the blade of a knife, (perhaps a Microtech Makora), on the 2nd downward thrust. The first clearly penetrated the skull through the parietal bone and struck the left trigeminal nerve cluster, which, among other things, controls facial expression. This would account for the victim's appearance. The lack of blood and brain residue on the blade can be attributed to it's incredibly sharp edge, as well as this material being wiped clear as the knife was drawn upward, and then down again, through the sombrero. The assailant obviously didn't account for the reflexive reaction to the first wound, thus causing the second thrust to miss. I would expect he, or she, would follow with an upward, forearm sweep, beneath the hat, in an attempt to reach the medulla oblongata. While the resulting hemmoraging would be considerable, if successful, this would be the medical equivalent of a walkoff homerun in baseball, and a spectacular ¡adios muchacho! for the victim. At least, that's what I would do, given the circumstances.

I don't really feel I communicate very well when I have time to think through my shit and make it especially coherent; somewhere in there it ends up more douchebaggy and lame, so yeah, eh. Vent is fun, though. And AIM is still pretty serviceable.

Maybe we should just update this into some kind of real-time forum? Basically a chat room that logs everything.

When you're a college student, or just in your early twenties generally, you tend to spend much more time online (in a dorm, in parent's basement, what have you). When you leave college, get a job, a wife, kids, all the shit that constitutes "real" life, you don't have as much time for this sort of place. Frankly, as much as I enjoy this bit of the internet, I find myself falling into that pattern. Life gets in the way.
