just one question.. GTA 3 had a huge problem with me.. it didnt compel me to finish the game ever.. does this one have a nice storyline to compel me to actually finish the game.. pawn missions are ok.. but are there self missions.. in which i am developing character.. (not as in rpg just as in any arcade game.. moving the storyline).. or is it same old get that hooker to that street and that hooker to that street etc etc.. i hated that shit in the original..

i only played GTA 3 enough to get me to the 3rd island. The i just fucked around the entire time...i never did feel any urge to beat the game either......my friend let me borrow it for a week while he borowed all of my anime (to burn)....and so far it is pretty cool.

I've seen Vice City on the ps2, and it looked pretty good, but I still don't know... All i really do on GTA 3 is drive around Portland and listen to mp3s. and try to jump buildings... aside from better weapons and different cars, there wasn't really a big motivation to go further... I guess that's why I'm replaying Morrowind instead of beating GTA3

I found GTA3 pretty lame when it comes to story/character dev and I still havent finished the third city.

Vice City is alot better than GTA3 i'd say.

I've read some reviews on it and they say that the detail of the game (compared to the PS2) is better.

Is there anything to make you want to advance the story? Or can you just go grab some guns and cars (or motorcycles, or helicopters) and drive around? What I say on the ps2 didn't really give me that impression. It looked really open-ended (which I'm a big fan of, don't get me wrong), but maybe it is too open-ended. And I guess the story just doesn't really get me going. I mean, compare GTA 3--um... shoot things up cause you got betrayed?--with, say, even TIE Fighter... Maybe it's me, but I like a good story, and I think that's where GTA goes wrong. Same with Postal. Senseless killing just gets kinda lame...

i finally pointed out why the fuck i didnt complete gta 3.. u know why coz i aint no fucking pawn without a tongue.. thats it.. the reason why GTA 3 guy as they called him didnt impress me at all.. is that he didnt have a tongue.. the mofo couldnt speak and it felt like shit to be someones pawn.. damn.. dont u just hate that.. in mafia we had a whole compelling story going.. no wonder i played it 2 times around.. even the race track thing.. two times without cheats etc.. gta 3 was fine.. as long as u wanna bash some asses.. but i didnt finish the damn game.. coz it wasnt cool enuff.. i am waiting to get vice city.. and enter the matrix and veitcong and rise of nations.. fuck shit.. i have so many games to end.. currently playing the thing, mgs 2, and bloodrayne.. crap!..

dude, i can't help but bring this up again; GET MORE RAM. u can get a stick of 256mb at newegg for 28$ shipped. pay 1$ more and u can get that nice crucial stuff for 29$ shipped.

dude i know.. and i live in pakistan.. the shipping of ram will cost me 60 bucks.. lol.. but i will buy more ram soon enuff.. also i cant just get me a stick i need 2 sticks of 256 mb as i have only 2 slots of ram and they are full.. i might.. just might be upgrading my cpu this june or july.. so i am just not wasting money on ddr 266 sticks.. as probably i will be getting ddr 333 sticks on my new mobo.. hence the 2 months with shitty ram!

can i buy 333 sticks and run em on my mobo that supports only 266 speeds by setting them at 266 in the bios.. if yes.. i might just get some sticks today!

of course. like puttin PC133 sticks into a 100mhz bus. the 333's will just run at 266mhz. and you don't have to set anything in the BIOS. they'll run at 266 by default.

ooooo yeaaahhhhh.. thanx a lot dude.. so i dont have to pay fucking everytime i upgrade the damn ram modules.. will 512 mb last me a year or something with my new sys.. or shall i take the leap to 1 gig already!

here's my review:
runs better that GTA3 on the same system. it is fuckin AWESOME, it is damn near perfect. only problem is the retarded clipping from PS2.

512 will last you a long time. you got a nice vid card; textures can be stuffed in that hunk of video RAM :)

512mb is more than enough for the maps and shit

and i noticed that too cr3am. thought it was driver problems; then i remembered it happened on the console too....
