I have mixed feelings about this game.. it's simple really though, add a little Oni, some Max Payne style shoot-outs and every signature move from the Matrix movie and you have the game all summed up... visually the models look good TILL you get up-close, well except for Niobe's hair it always looks good.. the sounds are nice, especially the hit effects they are just like the movie, and I especially love the feel of being in the Matrix universe when playing the game.. simple things like the extra moves you get in Focus time and the nervousness you get when a Agent is around are kool, just like the movie run when they are around because they mean business, you can beat them in Focus time but once it runs out they are going to whoop you till it comes back, best thing to do is run.. I was wondering how energy or health was going to be done but I think it's done fairly ingame, basically if you played Halo well it's the same principle.. after taking to much punishment just hide out for a while and let it recharge, it's easier said than done though, i've already regretted one or 2 times not starting on Easy but it's ok i'm diehard.
Some reasons why i'm doubting the game is because too linear, don't get me wrong the stunts you can perform in the game and the over all gameplay is decent.. maybe my expectation were simply to high, I also don't like the length of Focus time, sure it's plenty to get you out of the rough spots but then again the kool stuns can only be done in focus time and it runs out way to quick sometimes.
My favorite move with Niobe is when you grab a character to throw them and then she trips them and punches them as they are sideways in mid-air, Mister Anderson did the same punch to Neo in the train tunnels, it's hot.. that move must be done in [Focus] mode however. I hate the fact that she's ALWAYS in run mode I wish I could change this but then again some of the areas are so big it makes sense.. i'm only running 256mb of pc2700mhz ram in my new rig and the game doesn't miss a beat, it's smooth and I have everything maxed out, maybe that's because they loaded 3.18gb of shit onto my puter.. enough ranting i'll post back again once I get further... maybe i'll go as Ghost and give Niobe a rest.

I have yet to play it, but I fear for it. They seem to break too many genres, and I'm worried that they will bomb it. Hopefully they don't, sounds like the fun enough game.

Just like I said, besides the signature moves I don't see myself playing it once I beat it, it's very much like the movie though i'll keep it around for show and tell when my peeps are over.. one thing for sure though the levels load around 3 - 5 seconds flat, after playing with this style I would rather any game use 3gb plus and no cd's and skip all that loading time and lag crap.. if they wanted the movie feel they definately got that much accomplished because it transitions so easily. I just played the driving scene as Ghost and it's crazy that it didn't lag, I thought they said Niobe was the best driver at everything, lol she can't drive a car for nothing.

fun game, but i've stopped playing it since the post office, when i read somewhere that it will follow the movie storyline closely. wouldn't wanna ruin the movie, so i'll wait :)

the game occurs at the same time as the movie i think......and they shot about an hour of footage just for the game....aparently the game answers some questions that the movie leave open. At least thats what i have heard from interviews from the game developers

I would definitely get this game because I'm a :D matrix fan:D. This game's grtaphics stinks bad compare to other PC titles that's coming up, all blurry texture and that... (It's all PS2's fault.) But look at all the little cinematics with original cast from the movie (Mr. Anderson!!!!) And look at all the cool moves!!! The gamplay might be linear but hey what game isn't... can't wait to shoot all those sentinels!!
Remember, we are all just batteries. Buy this game or get flushed out of the Matrix... and that's gonna suck big time I tell you... we can't survive without the Matrix because we are not The ONE!!!

Yea the more I play it the more I find myself telling others to try it before you knock it.. the live action opener was kool, and it wasn't as cheesy looking as the Dune or CnC ones either.
Btw the game fills the gap between the first and second Matrix movie, I saw the making of it on Mtv and the characters said it will clue you in a little to the current movie like what is up with Ghost and Trinity, some kind of difference I guess.. the manual says that Ghost and Niobe are equal to Trinity and Morpheus, that I didn't think.
"can't wait to shoot all those sentinels!!"
Do that and you'll die a slow annoying death, fighting a sentinel is kool though, I stood up to one today and he dodged everything I threw at him, fighting was kool though until my Focus ran out and he started whooping me so I laced up the gators and took off.... RUN you're not Neo. :D

Ok I get no lag not even in the driving scenes but that's prob because I don't use AA, 1024x768 with all effects up and Anisotropic filtering on 6x.. with this way that game are going to prevent loading times I would suggest getting one of the newer harddrives with the 8mb cache... Sweet.
About the move it's easy, run up on someone and hit Focus(mouse4), while in focus just press punch(mouse1) + kick(mouse2) at the same time, hey master that move cause when you get out the Bowels and hit the airplane you have to fight a Agent:D .. the best way to beat him is with that move, i'll leave it at that I don't want to give to much of that moment away.:D
I was assuming you have your mouse setup like mine.. to be able to have Focus as the thumb button is sweet.

Has anyone gotten to the Vampire pit yet.. man this vampire shit actually scared me, between the music and the camera angles they can be some sneaky characters.
::POSSIBLE SPOILERS::
Now I don't know about Reloaded yet as I haven't seen it but when the fuck were there vampires in the Matrix, I hope this is a game move and not the movie move or i'm going to shocked because in the game one minute i'm in the world of ther Matrix and the next minute i'm fighting vampires.. I gotta see the movie before I continue the game because I don't want to ruin anything for myself.. someone here mentioned to not to play the game till I saw the movie but I might have fucked up and ruined something for myself somehow.
