Max Payne mods help..

I got the kug-fu mod for max payne..i dragged it into the folder and it wont work..crap!! and no it is not the pirated version.does this look right??

Usually all the mods come with a read me file which contains info about installation. Or try serching the info on the site you downloaded mod from.

ok..yain, here is what happened. I dragged it into the folder and i start the game. there is no place to play the modded version of the game and the flamethrower mod i got..is nowhere to be found eithe??:eek: :confused:

Neil, you know that Max Payne menu at the start of the game that allows you to change your graphic settings and other options, right? That's where you select the mod. Did you get into the game menu where there are music, saw nothing changed, and assumed the thing isn't working?

one more thing? i have a no cd crack for this game so when i give it back..i dont have to stop playing the game..where do i install the crack??

What kind of crack is it? Is it a zip file that contains a maxpayne.exe, or a .exe that has a different name on it?

If it is a maxpayne.exe, all you need to do is replace the original, real maxpayne.exe with the new one. Usually this kind of crack come in a zipped file and sometimes it has more than one file. Drag them all into the folder where you installed your game, and it should work.

If it is a .exe that does the cracking process after you download it, it usually works the best if you put it in the game's folder, then run it.

I highly recommend the first type of crack. They have a much higher chance to work properly. make sure the crack is the right version.

I don't have any experience with the mod in question, or much with Max Payne, beyond playing it, but may I make some suggestions that might make it easier for people who do to help?

First, and this is just something I'm wondering, why do you use Paint to cover up everything but the file in question? It might help somehow if it wasn't. Or, if nothing else, cover up something you feel the need to, but if you just want to call attention to something, a simple red arrow or something would suffice, I think.

Second, can you explain where you got the crack, or at least any kind of descriptive material that came with the crack? Not necessarily an in-depth description, but just so other people can find it and help you.

Third, if there's anything you think might help, please mention it. The more these people know, the more they can help you.

Maybe I'm off base with these, and no doubt Yian would be best suited to ask things, since he seems to have taken up the burden of helping, but it just seemed like those might make his job easier.
