who here is getting annoyed at how short the games are for Playstation 2 and the xbox?
i mean i go to the video store hire a game its great but only lasts me two days and iv finised it im really tired of it i want games to be longer like morrowind was but even in that the story doesn't last for long and iv already completed it halo was good it took me and my brother a week to finish all the difficult settings.

Who else here is getting sick of it i remember the first doom took me a month or so to finish but not any of these new games can match that.
But then again im probably just a freak and finsh games extrodinarily quick.
is anyone else haveing this problem of shrt games??

I'd say that a short game that i'm pissed off with would be
Mafia...

I clocked that in 3 days.
I guess after you finish it you can keep doing missions in Freeride Extreme, but, i would have liked the game better if it had more missions in the game

sounds like mor3 and kain all share one thing in common: the reason they play a game not because they want to enjoy the fun, but to beat it.

If yoor goal of playing a game is just to beat it, all games are short. Guess what, I beat SOF II in 5 hours, but when I take my time, play tactics with the thugs, it tooks me three months.

And don't you guys ever play a game "again" after you beat it? It's called replay value. Games like Unreal2 or C&C Renegade has absolutely not replay value of any sort, and if you guys sincerely thought those were "great games", you guys don't know how to pick games, and most likely to pick up shitty titles and beat it in no time and start complaining "so short..."

... in my opnion, RTS games have more replay value than any other genres, especially Age of Kings, which comes with a random map generator. Starcraft's maps are all pre-made, but the different combination of units can still make this game interestiing everytime you play it.

GTA3 is a relatively short game, too, if all you play are its missions. But look at all the secret packages, different cars, different stunts... you guys certainly don;t want to go pass them and just beat the game for good.

So, my advice is, try to slow down the pace while playing, and pick the right game... read reviews or try the demo instead of following the hype.

Hehehe... well, I actually do remember a very short game. Heavy Metal FAKK2, anyone? That game was awesome but WAY TOO SHORT...

Hey, here's a short game for you-- Blue Shift. That was unethically short for how much they charged.

actulally the main reason why i finish games in the first place is to see the full story it simply shits me in games lik ZOE on the ps2 how it just ends and even that suced the game was great up until then oh and the GTA seiries i loved them. its not that i complete the game with out trying stuff i do that alot but just driving around and shooting shit and doing all the jumps can get a little tedious beside i dont do the story in gta4 vice city i just hop on my bike and take a ride down to the air port or play games whith the local populas };]
But unfortunatley alot of games when you see the ending your left....wanting.. no its more like the game should have had a better ending.....i mean i love star craft and age of kings yes there great but there only good when you play multiplayer and most people i know dont whant to play that because it takes too long to get any where.
but what i origanally tried to say was im sick of games whith short stories in them.
i often hire aa game that has no story but is still great but im sick of games with great stories that only go for 3 hours of game play....

oh if theres alot of spelling mistakes its because i cant be bothered looking for them. oh and yian i see your point ...but do you see mine?

That's part of the whole console vs. PC games thing. games like moo3, NWN, BF1942 etc epitomize the PC game experience, while ZOE, ICO, and others I can't think of right now represent the Console experience.

PC games have looong single player experiences, multiplayer, and user created mods, Console games do not. This is changing though, GTA is horrendiously long, THPS4 is insanely long, Zelda the Wind wanker is pretty long. SOCOM, UC, and Mech Assault all have fantastic multiplayer. If Microsoft wasn't such a hard-ass they'd allow people to make user created mods for stuff on the console.

LOL. yeah, it's probably gonna happen, it's just a matter of time. I mean, look at how popular the Koala expansion to splinter cell, not to mention the add-on to mechassault. Eventually they will realize that console ppl like free shit just like PC people (the free shit I mention being IE back in the day, among other things)

yeh but doesnt every one like free stuff?, but my point is that im kinda getting sick of games that are really great but then they just end like they couldnt think of a better way to end it so they so its like there saying "yeh heres good enough"....

Yeah some games are pretty short, but there gonna come out with Grand Theft Auto 4. I know that game is going to be long. The other GTA's were long. Thr hard thing is to beat it on 100%. I have GTA3 only 85% done. Its reall yhard to get a 100%.

The funny thing is you cant finish the game unless you do every insane stunt bonus and every other jump bonus after youv done every mission... but you can run around killing inoccents for only so long...

It's not that I just play games to clock them...
Some games that I play get boring, so, in the end I only play them to clock it.
Where as, most games I play, I do enjoy and I do sit there and play them for hours, days, months, but, Mafia just wasn't one of them games. After playing the GTA series, no freedom game relates to it...
