Tank Racer from Grolier

Can anyone help me and my three year old? Need a copy of the full version of Tank Racer. Have the demo already. It's no longer available from Grolier. Other places no longer stocking. Anyone have a version or know where to get one? We desperately want the red tank! I desperately need the peace!

Hi Rachelh -- I was in the same situation. I found a copy a couple of weeks ago from a place called DMParts (www.dmparts.com). I don't think they list the game on their website, but they're selling them through Ebay for US$4.99 ("buy now" price). Go to Ebay and search for "tank racer game". Good luck.

Thanks for your reply ... I managed to get a copy of a copy from someone.... but I now have another problem ...
I cannot access any other racing tracks except the village! Can see them! Just can't select them. Can change tanks though. Have searched sites for cheats or suggestions and can only find a download for a Hex editor. Had my computer downloading for 24 hours and the 6KB still wasn't in.

Does your copy from Ebay work OK? If it does I'll buy a legal copy!!!

Rachelh -- I think you have to unlock the other levels by placing sufficiently high (ie, 1st, 2nd or 3rd) on preceeding levels, then once they're unlocked you can choose any of them. Not entirely sure since I just installed it yesterday (my son's birthday) and we're still figuring it out, too, but I think that's how it works. By the way, it looks like it's got some pretty fun multiplayer levels, if you have a home network (I doubt you'll find any internet servers doing Tank Racer!). There are also some "goodies" you can unlock as you progress (under "options"), but I have NO idea what that is.

Thanks ... I'm useless at getting round at a reasonable speed - will have to try some other need for speed players nearer home to help me unlock the routes. My son is getting much better than me, but often get's side tracked mowing down the cows or picking up the bonus boxes. His sound effects are better than the soundtrack!
Have fun and I'll let you know if I unlock the goodies box.
