Does running a virus scan make your pc operate any faster.. I just did one and now it seems as though this puppy is operating smoother, kinda like I did a old school defrag and now things are a little quicker.. either that or I need more sleep?

I've never heard of virus scan making a computer run better. Of course, I'm no expert on such things. Is it just a plain virus scan or isit one of those that has a combo of things?

I dont think that it has done something....i usually do virus scans at work with various programs and neither one of them made computer run faster. So i think some sleep would be appropriate :)

It was a plan Norton scan.

I think about the only way that would happen is if it found a virus that was eating up your system resources. Either way, have fun with the new speed! :)

Norton actually is a hog for system resources, if you have a low end machine, but if it's fast it shouldn't really make any difference.

my virus scan always seamed to make my comp run a little slower......hmmmm, mabey it's doing something else in the background that keeps everything running a little smother, i dunno
