You guys wanna try somthing during the summer when it won't fuck up your life too bad, try the überman sleep program I just started it today and so far it's going ok, just wondering if any of you guys/gals wanna try it and compare results. It makes for great extra time for a project or somthing, such as learning photoshop, or maybe Maya or 3dsmax.

That's pretty cool wood texture, is there a tut online somewhere... I always had a hard time making wood pattern.

Some steps are not necessary (like making a custom brush) but overall this is a good tut.

Back to the actual sleep schedule, as much as I'd like to only sleep three hours a day, the entire "no research whatsoever on the subject" thing scares me. But, if you want to give it a try, more power to you. Maybe in fifty years, everyone will be doing it and I'll feel stupid for missing out on fifty years of three-hour sleep. Of course, it might mess you up, so who knows? But, good luck all the same out there on the front lines of sleep research.

Well, it's actually only an hour a day on the plan I'm following, and it's kicking the shit out of me right now. I heard the first week or so is hellish so I'm gonna stick with it.

I'm slowly headed to a no-sleep scedule. Sure you may think "What the fuck, that's impossible", but it's hypothetically not. Testing done proved that people being Suddenly cut off sleep have symptoms similar to Cocaine addicts cut off from their drug... So I thought "Why not gradually ease off sleep", since it's like a drug.
Experimental, but fun in its own way - I sleep around 4-5 hours at the moment, and am cutting off 10 minutes every two weeks. :)

Why the fuck would you not want to sleep? Sleep is great! Feeling safe instead a warm pair of sheets? Possibly with another warm body beside you and/or a dog at your feet? It's great! I love sleep.

Sleep is good... like drugs. Think about it - sure you feel god, but maybe ur just feeling horrible all the time when ur not sleeping, and if you didn't need to sleep you wouldn't feel like 'shit' [What I'm hypothesising we feel like now]... Sure on a sunny day you feel less bad, but as people say on the uberman sleeping schedule that they feel better... think about no sleep. :D
Since there's no proof of this I'd be careful about anyone else than an idiot, like me, doing the no-sleep to test it out :)

When you sleep your brain releases chemicals that are essential to a normal life, the program I'm on just makes it so that all of your short naps are periods of REM sleep.

Yeah all you need is about 30 minutes a day of REM sleep. The way you get REM sleep is when everything is perfect, the temperature, your really comfortable and a few other things. Anyways, this scientist set up some sort of chamber that I think filled with some sort of fluid halfway and computers monitored him and changed things in the fluid and temperatures and other things to give him the perfect sleeping condition. It would give him exactly 30 minutes of REM sleep a day and thats all he every did, 30 minutes of perfect sleep a day. Im not sure what happened after that or if it worked 100%.

I woke up sore from keeper practice (yeah, I'm out of shape and such but I still like soccer even after all this time since high school) but I got to thinking:
What about physical activity? It seems like this sleep schedule places its only weight on mental restoration with REM focused sleeping. But at the same time, the body does need to restore itself during sleep too. I guess that if one doesn't do any physical activity, it might be alright, but who knows? That's just a thought. I'll ask a biologist friend of mine to see what she thinks.
