Enter the Matrix -- Worst Game Ever

I am hereby nominating Enter the Matrix for the worst game ever made award.

Normally I wouldn't get this pissed over a computer game because I can just stop playing, but Shiny have fucked me. I love the Matrix and I'm almost addicted to trying to find out more about the story. The only reason why I try to play EtM is to see the FMV and the little cunts decided to completely fuck me by splitting the video from the audio in the FMV movie directory, so I cant even watch the movies through Media Player.

When I play the game it feels like someone is holding my mouse and constantly resisting my motion and just generally trying to piss me off. The next annoying thing is having to kill a million cops, and thats almost the extent of the gameplay, kill a million bad guys. Then there is a stage where you have to snipe some cops off a stairway, omg, the person who designed the controls must be some kind of sadistic anal fucking horse raper. First of all the key to get you into snipe mode doesn't always respond, and then when you are in snipe mode the mouse sensitivity is set to fucking A MILLION and one slight tap sends the cursor flying all over the screen. I suck up all my strength and continued to play through.

Driving.... what the fuck.... I hate them so very very much. I dont even want to talk about it.

Then there are all the other flaws which are typical of shinys low quality titles, like bad graphics, bad models, terrible motion capture and unfuckingbelievably retarded missions which you cant save your progress in. There is this one stage where you have to protect this one fucking idiot and he keeps running into some sniper on a ledge and in one shot he's dead. Then you have to repeat this annoying "run around some elaborate stage designed to piss you off" objective just so you can watch him get shot in the face again.

Or Force Commander. I didn't realize Force Commander could be beat, though I'll admit Daikatana comes close. Save gems, killer frogs.... what on earth were they thinking?

hehe, I haven't played force commander, but thing that makes EtM worse than Daikatana is that I want to play EtM for the story. I didn't have to play Daikatana :)

No, he's not so much from Morrowind, sadly. Though it'd be sweet if he was. It's Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango. Which is a wonderful game as well. So you have Lucasarts to thank for his design.
And you have future man to thank for the sig. Or, more accurately, I have future man to thank.

But I might get out the Elder Scrolls tool kit and try to put Manny into Morrowind.

Calavera armor, maybe?:)

MUHAHAHAHA, I WIN!!! I didn't have to play this crappy game. I just have a friend that is more bored than I am. He finished it and now I can see the FMV, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. FUCK YOU SHINY!!!!

I was playing at my friend Mason's house. I kept calling everything lame. The Last Ghost level is terrible.

The way it sounds, this game just combined a lot of bad things from a lot of other games. Or, maybe it's just me. But, that level with the sniper--"run around some elaborate stage designed to piss you off"--sounds a lot like MOHAA's Omaha level. I didn't really have any fun on that one. But, I'm probably still going to play EtM, just to see how bad it really is.

The thingy about not being able to look up and down ( fucking console game ) is probably the thing that pissed me off the most, that kind of motion restriction drives me nuts. Shit, I also remembered, if you run into a wall at a particular angle he puts his back up against it like in splinter cell, except its automatic and fucking annoying.

Here are some things I noticed in the game:

1) Why must they shake their butts when they open a door?

2) Why must they run with their arms swinging like that?

3) What's up with the shell from the bullets? They are thicker then the gun barrel!

4) They texture looks blurry as shit.

5) Combos are cool but get tiresome after three levels...

6) There is absolutely no AI! They just stand there and wait to be beat up...

7) The camera needs some work.

8) what's wrong with the lighting? Not even dynamic?

9) What's up with the pixilated textures?

10) With Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 coming out, this game just wont do any good to Pc gamers like us.

11) BTW, have you guys noticed that the smoke is actually not any kind of particle effect, but three pieces of cloud-like textures? This shit is okay in 1999, but oh come on...

12) Why do the characters shake like they have alzheimers in the cut-scenes.

13) Why do the characters stick to the fences when they "climb" it rather than climbing up it

14) No-one has yet argued that it is good lol, and dont you dare now that I mentioned it!

i agree ETM was truly a horrible game they really fucked it up big time.... but was The Matrix Reloaded truly that great also? i mean i did enjoy it but to me it seemed the first one was sooo much better... you guys ever played a FPS called Revolution??? if not DONT!!!! that is the worst FPS ever it makes Diakatana look like a great FPS.... so if you ever see Revolution on the store shelf spit on it!!!!!!! it was a waste of $8 !!!!

Where did Revolution came into the discussion...? There is a thread for the worst game ever. This thread is for bitching about Enter the Matrix, right? But I have to agree, Revolution is one of the worst game ever made.

The game has some very impressive graphics, but the gameplay is so horrible... Boring to death. Such a shame that I bought it when it was at $28.... NiteX, you're actually lucky.

I was rapped when I got the game, because everyone said that the game was gonna be mad. From all the reviews that I read and saw, it seemed like it was gonna be the game of the year or something.
When I got home, I played it, clocked it, and un-installed it.
It was a waste of time and money.
The only good part that I liked about it would have been the part where you fight the vampires, and the bullet time. Otherwise, apart from that the game was shit.
