Gamespy, IGN, and Gamespot were probably the three largest sites when it comes to game-related medias. However, they are all now the victims of capitalism. Sure, money is a very big factor to maintain and keep up the great work, but while Gamespot is able to divide the free and pay section with good balance, Gamespy is a little bit going down on the quality (that site is so full of itself), and IGN is completely fucked.
There are advertisements EVERYWHERE at IGN.com. They have pop-ups, between-page ads, and banners EVERYTHERE. Even when you just wanted to download some video to watch, they give you advertisments in the fucking video clips. And, the worse of all, the video clips' commercials LOOP! They just kept telling you how good Window XP is till the download is complete.
Gee, IGN used to be such a great site. I still remember those days when interenet was a rich source of information, and that's it. Needless to say that good old days are always better then the pile of shit we have now.
