Can someone help me? I'm with an AMD Duron 1200MHz 112MB with a 3DNow!® chipset (DirectX 8.1), but I'm having some problems with this game (see the subject line)... It runs perfectly up to 512x384 with High enhanced lighting, when I try to use 640x480 with Very High enhanced lighting, the game freezes and I need to reset my computer. Why?

I'm afraid to be answered

When you state that you have 112Mb of RAM, that's tellin' this girl that you REALLY have 128Mb of RAM with 16Mb devoted to the integrated graphics on your motherboard. Am I right?

Since we're talking about a Duron, I'm going to guess you have either a VIA or SiS motherboard. Let's say a VIA, for kicks, with the dreaded ProSavage video.

If I'm guessing correctly, this is NOT a good video solution for gaming, (almost no motherboard chipset with integrated graphics is), especially for Direct3D. You could try and allocate ANOTHER 16Mb of system memory to your onboard video and see if you can run the game then, but you'll probably have a noticeable drop in system performance overall with just 96Mb of RAM for everything else. If this is a WinXP system, 96Mb of RAM is just to frightening to contemplate.

You could disable your onboard graphics, allocate the full 128Mb to the system, and install a REAL video card.

Or, you could add additional system memory, say another 128Mb, and THEN increase the amount allocated to the onboard video to 32Mb.

The best solution, if it IS an integrated graphics chipset, is to do BOTH.
