Oh man, I guess either the first Tribes (I logged 100s of hours playing that) or Fallout 2.

Hmm. Grim Fandango, maybe. Or, might be Duke Nukem 3D. That was the greatest game, back in the day.

Fallout 1 definetly Fallout 1...not that I didn’t liked the second part but the first one started it all!

The Longest Journey was probably the best game I have played so far. Interesting puzzles (not quite logical, though), and decent plot, and nice graphics for its time. Too bad the replay value isn't that high.

MOHAA and MOHAA SH are my all time favourite

I actually like 2 games

Hitman - Pretty hard game, a real one of a kind.

Resident Evil 2 - Everytime Clarie died I always laughed. It was soo funny, its cause the zombie was humping her (shut up).......Oh yea, it was kind of scary(haha Clarie just died again).

This is so hard.

It'd be between three games. (damn it I can't narrow it down to just one)

Deus Ex, Fallout 2, and No One Lives Forever 2 .. In no particular order.

When Fallout came out, it was the shit. I never got to play through the whole original, since I only got to borrow it from a friend. Fallout 2 came out so quick after that, I just picked that one up instead and was floored. Deus Ex is just so damn original and fun, I still get a kick out of playing this game. Can't wait for Invisible War. NOLF2 is just a graphically beautiful game with seriously fun gameplay and an insane arsenal of gadgets and weapons. Kind of reminded me of Deus Ex in the 60's on steroids.

After thinking about the best game I've ever played again.. I realize that I can't categorize them like that. I just thought of 4 more. I'm not even going to go there.

Good = An unprecedented level of violence

------------------------------------------------------

This will come as no surprise to the more senior members of these hallowed forums when I say that my answer would be the original Unreal. Version 224 running Glide, in particular.

Hitman

Hard I have 2 contenders.. the one that filled me the most with the story was Starcraft.

Definately Baldur's Gate saga :)

Runners up are Half-Life 2, StarCraft and WarCraft saga :)

StarCraft is definitely a classic, and it is still fun. No game has ever been so perfect for ages.

Thus: SOFII is the best game of all TIME!

Soldier of Fortune II was insanely gory. Cool gunplay, bad story. And what was UP with that save feature!?

I damn near forgot to mention System Shock 2. Not the greatest game I've ever played (didn't like the controls too much), but freaky for its time.

Mine'd have to be GTAVC. I mean, when I got it I was so exited when I got it.
An old game that I loved would have to be Duke Nukem Kill-A-Ton. I was pretty hyped up when I got the game. I'm actually pretty lucky that it played when I got it. Back then I had a shitty 486, with like 150mb of HHD left after I installed the game (The HDD had a limit of 400mb), and don't even let me start on the graphics card...
But, I hate my new comp coz I'm still having probs with the game.

You can customize the save feature... make the game tough as hell with unlimited save. Customize the duffucult level.

I didn't realize that. That would have made the game slightly more desirable...

Mafia is the clear choice. When you play this, you don't feel like your playing a game, you feel like it's a way of life. After going on a mission to wack a guy who has ratted out the Don, and than having a change of heart when you realize the circumstances, than hearing what he says to you before he parts, it gives you a warm feeling that doesn't end when you stop playing the game. This game is one of a kind.

True, true. I hadn't even thought of including Battlefield 1942. Indeed, it is a good, good game. Even the single-player, like you said. And if Desert Combat's in the running, then yeah, that's damn good as well.

Btw have you tried the latest DC 0.38a?? OMG it's fantastic, the voice communications when you take outposts, the way how tanks blow up now(more shit flying) and the wrecage stays longer to.

New weapons own, bots seem to be improved and can now atleast shoot from a helicopter and somewhat fly with it decently.

Cant wait till I get broad band, we're moving to a new area yay!

My internet is spotty right now. As soon as I start downloading it, everything crashes. :(

But yeah, I'm pumped for the boats, too. They looked pretty impressive.

Can the bots fly helicopters? It's always fun to see how long it takes them to have them upside down. :)

Starcraft was always a fav. It was really the first game that sucked me into gaming world. But credit MUST be given to Unreal tournament. I love that FPS. Soldier of Fortune was fun the first time with friends laughing as you blew away the heads of your enemies with the shotgun. Ahh...Doom. I don't remember the first doom. I was in 4th grade when I played that damn game. I was like sw33t. But I was did not realized that this was a first of a kind and I mostly had fun watching my bro play it.

My Choices are Civilization and Rogue Spear.

Civilization because It was the first PC game I played, and the role of power you had. I loved to nuke a city and just listen to the Siren go off... One day ill get ahold of a nuke and.... never mind, ignore that.

Rogue spear because it was the first game I played online and I loved the realism of it compared to any other game ive played before.

That's because they are imature, sometimes I see guys with 20+ years shittin out like that, yes GTA3 is fun and so on, but it's far from being anything solid.

Yeah, I'd definitely say that GTA isn't the best game ever. It's fun, though.
