not really a "show off" thread, but this board seemed like the best place to post it in.
I've begun looking for web hosts to host my little website on. :) So far these guys (http://www.gisol.com/hosting/) is the leading candidate. Its a bit sus how their special offers seem to expire all the time, but the very same offer crops up the following day! But their deal sounds nice. Has any1 seen anything that can beat it?
(and yes, I know their prices are in USD.)

mmmmm.. the startup costs seem cheaper.. since you don't have to pay all your fees up front.. but I'm going to end up paying anyway, so gisol hosting still wins. Hey, if you can get me a special deal with Gotaweb, I might just choose them. ;)

well what you have got to ask yourself is, "what do i want my web space to hold?" and "how many hits do i expect to get?", you said you were going to host a little website on it, and tbh all you really pay for is bandwith, not space, your not gonna use more than 12gb for a "little site" so i see little point in buying 45gb's worth (it is your money tho =], and just for the record, i host 4 sites on my webspace and use about 500mb bandwith a month, having said that they dont get all that many hits)
i could have a word with my freind for oyu but i cant promise anything, he offers insane ammounts of stuff tho (unlimited mysql databases etc etc) so i would be asking myself those questions if i was you

Comparing to my web hosting comapny this deal sounds like a dream to me. (I'm paying the fucking GeoCities 8 bucks a month for 50mb!) I can't believe this shit acually exists! How can they fucking survive with such a low price? Can anyone find any bug in their deal?

Whell the thing is, you hafta pay your fees up front, but it all works out at 8USD a month. I guess having all that cash helps their liquidity. They also provide dial-up services, I think.... Whell, they say they started in 1998 and they're still alive now.... Mmmmmm....
Oh TK, I'm planning to put up little games up there, so I'm anticipating quite a bit of traffic. I don't know if you've seen the one I'm maintaining now, but >click here< (http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~lagunad/) just the same. :)

They are a rackspace hosting company, http://www.rackspace.com which is a decent thing, since San Antonio is pretty well connected, and rackspace is has a great rep.
However, be careful. Those prices lead me to believe they may be a bargin hosting company, and thus may overload thier servers. I was on a box once that had over 1000 accounts, and man did it suck.
I went to webhostingtalk.com..... OH man do they have a bad rep. Not like CI, but close.
