Phantom might succeed, but its chance to failure is much greater. Remember, good platform doesn't sell. XBox is probably the most powerful machine out ther, and GameCube isn't bad either. PS2 looks like shit and it is so successful.

Well, I don't really buy consoles, so I won't. I kinda hope they succeed, though. That would make four consoles, but I think it would make everybody work that much harder, and maybe consoles would start rivaling computers.

And yeah, I'm going to get crap for that last sentence, but it's a statement of hope, not scorn.

All consoles are just mini PC's. They all have a CPU, Memory, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Drive, and some type of graphics processing device. Getting back to the topic, I don't think they will last. They will probably release it, a few people will buy it, and it will go down with the rest of the consoles that didn't make it.

Can someone plaease explain this to me...? Why people buy Dell's coomputer? Why people play Sims? Why people buy PlayShitation 2? Why people voted for Bush... :p :p? Some soda could actually begin to dissolve small amounts of aluminum on the can could it not. I noticed that Diet Sprite cans break much more easily than any other soda can around (trust me, I stocked shelves in a grocery store)Why would this be?

I know that metal can isn't great, but the saying "taste better" just can't be an accurate observation. It is true that carbonated water acts like acid at certain degree, but it will take at least 2 years to make the soda "taste worse" in a can.

It is just a good example of how people say things that they don't even know for sure themselves. It's not too hard to imagine: people heard the news about how metal cans will react with the soda, so when they talk about it, they will say "oh yeah it does taste weird" to let people know how sensitive 9thus how smart) they are and they knew something wasn't right at the first place. Soda is better with a plastc bottle for your health, but "taste better" is bullshit. Hope you get my point.;)

Just like how some dumbass came to me and say HALO can be used to "train" snipers, because they saw the news about how that kid who helped the sniper in D.C. was playing HALO. And a lot of people now links HALO to snipers just as what they did when they link video games to violence. They would run around and say "video games let your kids simulate killing and sex!" Now, people, when is the last time we had any SEX in any video games? Please tell me which one it is because I have dedicated my entire life looking for one! GTA3? Fuck off! It has as much sex as Neverwinter Nights!

You guys must think now I'm way off-topic, but I'm not. The reason Phantom will fail, if it will for christ's sake, is exactly the reason XBox caouldn't be NO.1. People here have been saying both goodies and shits about XBox, but the most common reason I heard from the people around me are two: 1) the freaking big controller and 2) it's from the evil Microsoft. Are they still selling big ass controllers? No. Is Microsoft really evil? Maybe, so are the Japanese who bought us PS2, also who whored every inches of our car industry for years! These people kept calling M$ evil while chatting on AIM, withour realizing that AOL was so musch more evil and aggressive on its business deals, which eventually brought their stoke market down because they stripped down every piece of resource of their partners and they were hated by everyone.

The point is, everyone likes PS2 not because they really love PS2, but just they want a console that everyone likes. Just look at PS2's graphics and you know right away that anyone who says PS2 is better is a moron, and I tell you there tons of this kind of morons out there. We know XBox has been suffering from its lack of games, but it doesn't make you say PS2 is better, because it is not! People will not accept anything new because PS2 is the "standard", and they will not accept Phantom. Someone actually came to me and said Phantom is going to suck because "Phantom is the worst name for a console he has ever heard..." Just judge how much mentality is in that statement yourself.

But no matter how stupid people are, the obvious better choices are going to replace the shit, despite how popular the shit is. People will not admit that the "new and better" stuff is actually great, and they make fun at it when talking with friend, but some will try it when no one is around, and they will understand how awesome, how different, and how much better the thing is. Eventually when there is enough people, the tide will turn. XBox will, in my words, turn the tide, when there are enough games. Phantom will not win, because they don't have what is needed the most for a beginning console to beat an existing one: plenty of money to waste, to burn, to go through the difficult time. Microsoft has plenty of money to burn, and they will win.

Just to let you guys know, I don't smoke weed, in spite of how my posts sound.

We don't need more consoles, what we need are upgrades for the existing ones, just about every one could use more RAM, especially the PS2 (which ships with like 32mb of main memory, and 4mb of graphics memory). As a buddy of mine who has 2X-boxes, 2 PS2s, and 1 gamecube said "It's not the lack of graphics that bugs me, it's the FUCKING LOAD TIMES!". He's always asking me if he can mod his systems to run better without fucking them up too.

And if your curious as to why someone needs that many systems, he has kids, and the x-box is for his H2. Yes, that's fucking insane unless your puff daddy and NEED to have a system in your car.
