On my comp, I have the 41.09 nvidia drivers on my comp for my G-Force 4 TI 4200. All the new games that I have crash all the time, so about 5 minutes ago I un-installed them and installed the 42.54 nvidia drivers. The problem is that this message comes up, and I don't know how to install and configure system components.
If you have any idea how to do this, please tell me...
Thanks :p

What is the problem? It won't let you install the drivers?

It's ok dude's. I took out the 42.54 drivers and installed the 44.03 drivers in my comp, and at the moment they're working fine.

This may sound weird but I used to use the 40.71 drivers and had the highest 2001SE scores and the doom3 alpha actually worked whereas with the new drivers, it wouldn't even work... just a thought but mess with different drivers every once and a while. the 40.71 drivers were the most stable but didn't have all the special tweaks. again, just a thought...

The DOOM III Alpha works with all drivers, but for some reason with the new drivers you have to enable NV30 Emulation. It doesn't effect performance at all though, its very weird. I get 15-30FPS average with DOOM III using the 44.03 Drivers and a GeForce 3 Ti-200.

do you do that in the doom config file? there was one saying something like use NV30 "0"... I never set it to 1 cause I didn't want to fudge it up.

No, you have to download RivaTuner and turn it on in the OpenGL options. If you get one frame per minute then open the Doom.cfg file and check to see which codepath its using. If its using N30 try changing it to NV20, if its using NV20 try changing it to NV30. I'm not sure why its like this in the new drivers, but my guess is that ID asked nVidia to do it so people couldn't play it anymore. I took a bunch of pics of DOOM III running on my comp, you can check them out here. (http://www.photocountry.com/viewalbum.asp?UserId=12439&AlbumId=18179&PageNum=1)

Whats so special about these drivers? Does he just lower image quality and other things in order to get higer frame rates, or does he realy improve the drivers? I've been thinking about downloading the last set of nVidia drivers he made so i can check them out, but i don't want to download crap. Changing drivers is a pain in the ass.

he does the exact opposite. scores are usually brought down because he spends a lot of time tweaking image quality. lately he's outdone himself and actually improved scores AND image quality.
nvidia users will find improvements for sure.
