Alright, here's the result of my first few experiences with 3D Studio...
A table with miscellaneous stuff on it:

Another closeup of the fruitbowl:

Another one of the spoon, although I didn't do a very good job on the bowl end:

You get better as you spend more time with the software. Having a mind which can visualize stuff doesn't hurt too...

I use 3D Studio Max v4.2, I would use version 5, but my assignments and practical lessons requires me to use 4.2, all because it has to be compatible with the damn college computers. I got it through questionable means. The forums doesn't exactly encourage warez, do they? ;)

DAmn, that's pretty cool man, I to suck @ 3D, probably because I never really tried to make something more complex.
Gonna start learning soon tho.

CAD isn't a 3D program it's Computer Aided Drafting!
you can make more complex shapes in there and then import them into 3D Studio and use them to make more complex objects

You huys do remember MilkShape 3D, right? Kinda powerful if all you want to so is to mod a game. Cheap to register, too, $25. I have 3ds 5 full version, but the CD is not mine... Its like $3999 bucks to buy. Holy Smoke. Yes, 4 digits.

Not really. Photoshop is like $250 in our campus' bookstore. (For Educational use only, of course. But the real version isn't more than $500.)
