Bliss Wallpaper Contest

I thought it would be cool to have a wallpaper contest. But instead of making one from scratch the contest will be about editing the Windows XP wallpaper bliss. Anyone who wants to participate in the contest is welcome to. All you have to do is post your edited bliss wallpaper. There will be no judges, people not participating in the contest post which pictures they like best. Im not starting this contest because I want to see who's better at photoshop, cause like RAD says everyone has there own ideas and techniques. Im starting this contest cause I've seen a lot of cool edited bliss pictures and I want to see what people of this forum can do. For everyone that wants to participate the original bliss wallpaper is below as well as a link to examples.

Tried to fix gordons color and added the antlion. Still think gordon looks weird, any suggestions on how to fix it?

Bhazard:
1. Go back to the original gordon, you turned him into a cartoon thing
2. Up Gordon's contrast, and give him a different lighting affect, he's way too bright on one half, and way too dark on the other
3. Either fix the aircraft or get rid of it..... it looks terrible (the sun was probably right behind it in that screenshot, it looks bad
4. Strider is fine how it is
5. The starship troopers HL2 thingie is way too dark, and it has an outline

You can make colors brighter with Saturation right? Maybe the answer lies somewhere there.

Allthough RAD's pic has the lines running from the balls to the ground kinda wrong, his idea is indeed something you have to look at. Where the ball is really white.....is where the light source is coming from.....meaning that the shadow has to hit the gound on the other side of the ball, opposite of where the ball is bright white!

Cr3am hows it now. I started over with gordon. Got rid of the outline on the antlion and brightened it up some. I tryed fixing the flying manatee. What do I need to do to it? I really dont want to get rid of it unless I have too.

Yian in case you havent noticed by the light on the hill, there already is a light source. But whatever floats your boat.

Yes, i hand to displace the picture to fit with the sand, and I think i screwed up on the alphachannels so that's why it looks like a cardboard cutout.

No its not alpha channels. It’s the depth of the composition that makes it so pale. If you work around with the airbrush tool a little and remove the outline I’m quite sure it will look much better.

No you dont understand, I used 2d bumbmapping, err alphachannels when lighting the mountain, but i screwed up and it looks bad.

I just find it easier to use ye'oll airbrush tool to paint shadows and illuminated areas (plus this tool is more flexible than alpha channelling). Unless you used that image to experiment in that case keep on experimenting my friend I wish you best of luck.

Yeah, that cardboard cutout thing is kinda weird. If you could blend the ground into the sky or something like that. Just make it seem like less of a distinct separation, that might help.
