I wasn't sure if this post should be hardware or software-related. I flipped a coin.

OK, I messed up. I'm only human. For a few years now, I've been using an older P-III rig as repository for all my downloaded device drivers, PDF files, music and what-not. Periodically, I back these up to an old Yamaha CD-RW drive using the supplied Adaptec EasyCD V4.0, (patched). No problem adding additional data to a CD-R as needed.

Today, I elect to write some data to one of these discs using one of my LiteOn CD-RWs, with Nero, V5.5.8.0. rather than send it through the house LAN. I chose to write to an existing session, and picked the last one, (most recent), displayed in the Nero menu. At the end of the burn, all I can read is that session. I can't read any earlier sessions on that disc on any optical drive in any PC in the house, and that's a lot of PCs.

Even the Yamaha/Adaptec combo is letting me down now on that disc. I recreated the event on another "dummy" disc, just to be sure. A third, expendable, Adaptec-created disc was sacrificed to Emperor Nero when I chose to start a new session instead of adding to an existing one. All I can read is the "Nero" session, not the pre-existing Adaptec one.

OK, so a lesson is learned, but is there anyway I can retrieve the "hidden" data on that 1st disc?

Download "BadCopy Pro", its really good. It helped me recover "Hidden" data from amessed up CD-R. I forgot what the address is, so you'll have to google for it.

You might need to get a Serial, because I think i've heard that it doesn't let you save files after you scan your CDs unless you register. Not really sure though.
