Atrip Clan (Threads combined)

We need an Atrip clan people, now not necessarily a clan with the name Atrip but the best and most game worthy people from these forums should come together and create one for the up and coming games such as HL2, Soldner and others.. now I don't want to hear you say you have no time because most of us diehard users on this site are here all the time so if it's not possible give me another excuse:D. With that said what do you people out there think about the idea.

good idea man! I have been playing enemy territor a whole bunch and would love to start an Atrip clan, I think we could use Atrip for the clan name too or just put [AT] or somethinglike that for the clan.

I thought about the AT clan long ago, and then never brought it up. I try to avoid playing games as Smapdey any more, typically I go in under Mycroft Holmes, or something like that, so if you see that, it's me.

Mycroft [AT] would be my name if this clan ever got started.

Come to think of it, it's not a bad idea, we already have a forum, we already have a huge website, and we're all already good friends (well, sort of). We wouldn't have to recruit at all, and we could simply use AIM to plan.

I'm Smapdey on AIM (go figure), I'll be on all day.

Ok I just had to know for sure...do you people want an AT clan site or not? I personally think that idea Hitman (and a few other people) gave is very good one. BUT...I cant do the site alone you know (I’m no superman :rolleyes: ). So if you guys want to participate or say if it’s a good/bad idea post your thoughts here. I recently saw the nick RAY 16 used in UT2K3 demo and I find it very inspiring. How about we use it for the clan name? Neo Humanity I think it sounds great! That is if RAY 16 will allow us to use it.

Note that some of that stuff like the Actiontrip Gang part and the Mindless Jerks are just homages to the Bloodhound Gang and Douglas Adam's Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy respectively. I say we should keep them, even though they were just things that were stuck in my head.

As for the name, my vote goes to ATFT, which stands for Actiontrip Forum Trolls, but we'll say it stands for The Alliance for Turkey Freedom Today. We'll post lots of pics of Turkeys and our battles will be to liberate them from the cruel hands of farmers everywhere.

This is the best idea I've seen in a long, long time! I'll have to actually buy a game to play, but I think I can manage getting one, perhaps two, if you pick some older ones. BF1942 is a personal favorite, then Natural Selection, then Team Fortress Classic. Shouldn't be too hard to get BF, and actually own a copy of halflife already!

Looking forward to playing with you guys, though I'm certain I'll suck for a while, now I haven't really played a FPS in 6 months:)

I had to make some very harsh decisions lately...I decided to do all the html work myself. Please Chimera don’t get upset because you wont be taking part in this particular part of work. As I said you ALL will help me...in time. But the reason for such a decision is simple: it would took me to long to explain what exactly I want the site to look like and what content is necessary and I don’t want to right a 2 pages of read me file, nor do I want to trouble Chimera with unnecessary responsibilities and complications. I find it much more easier to accomplish everything myself. So my request for you guys right now is:

1. Decide the fucking name already ok?
2. And think about the solution for the hosting problem.

So it's something I can do and it doesn't require alot of time. And since time is not something I have in plentitude I'm not sure I can be a sufficient MOD. Being a mod does not require having enormous amounts of time to spend online. If you will have some interesting news or files you would want to share you can always share them with us on the site. Plus you wont be alone moderating the site so time shouldn’t be a problem.

Also, everyone here know about TeamSpeak yet? Voice Comms in a tiny package. I use it in Neocron all the time, makes a huge difference in how battles go.

as for voice chat, i find a lot of people can't configure stuff like team speak correctly (progs with a lot fo settings, that is). took a while for my clan to be on the same page. i see a lot of clans using Ventrilo and roger wilco.

I have dreadful news to report. A crash of a server that occurred yesterday destroyed the clan site as well as all information that server contained. But do not worry. I’m starting a work to replace the damages tomorrow. Also you can expect a new layout, more interactivity in the new design. New site should be up and running somewhere next week.
