this is nice shit but just one question.. dont u have to actually PAY to use images that are not urs.. like the doom 3 buddy in the banner.. till now it wasnt that big an issue until u classified the damn thing as a banner

No I don’t think that we have to pay for the shots. I mean they have been publicly released plus you remember some sites like Game Spy, Game spot and others have been slapping their labels on them and you think they pay for each screenshot? I doubt that. Anyways if they have something against the use I’ve put their pics to they will have to deal with me muahahahaha!

bud u have it as an AD and gamespot use it to run on their site not as AD.. for an AD you have to pay royalty for images.. if the same thing is slapped on AT site it wont be an issue since they are journalists.. just reviewing/previewing etc.

you on the other hand are using copyrighted material taken from any other site and slapping it as an AD of AT.. theoretically they should sue AT for using the damn pic since it was approved by owner of the site.. ! get it no?

Gamespot has never EVER (neither has gamespy, ign.com and other gaming sites i know of) used any images copyrighted for their own banners/slogans/ads!

thats just the way industry goes and i know it damn well sucks!

you might wanna ask 2lions about this.. remember the time someone scanned a mag.. those were PUBLICLY released shit but they asked AT to remove those!

Just a suggestion: why don't you ask AT to give you some help on this? I'm sure they will give you the original format of those logos you see at the main page. You know, the orange one...

I guess so. Since now I think with full confidence can call them illegal. Yian I tried asking for help from staff (I asked 2Lions to send me a high res version of their logo) and I got no reply. I guess they are not interested in cooperation. Well if their not interested why should I be interested?

Hey, guys. I don't think this is such a big deal. Wait, explain it to me again; you used screenshots from other websites to make AT banners? Esentially, this doesn't hurt anyone that much, and it's not like their lawyers will be knocking at our door for this. It's fine, go ahead and post those banners again; I wanna see them. If we do get some heat from the aforementioned publication, I'll let you guys know so that you can remove those banners, but I don't think we will.
