Stupid Ass Buying Decisions.. Console for ME! Damn..

So which fucking console should I get.. and which games.. my eyes are on PS2 coz that damn thing has enough games for me to last me a friggin lifetime..

we dont have xbox live so multiplayer over broadband isnt an option..

we dont have fucking community for multi even for ps2.. so screw that..

what i am looking for is good 2 player or single player games for a console.. and cant fucking decide which one to get..

PS2 has a huge collage of platformers that I really think i will enjoy.. like ratchet and clank, slycoopers, some nice action games to.. like dead to rights and ofcourse gran turismo racing games and such!

Xbox has panzer dragoon that looks promising.. halo 2 also.. and doa games.. (not that i really care too much for them).. i dont prefer first person shooters for consoles.. so halo etc dont interest me that much.. but then again.. maybe yes.. also JSRF

Gamecube has zelda, eternal darkness, and metroid on my primary list and is cheaper than jizz.. so i really wanna get this one.. plus Mr. Smapwhore keeps on telling me its the best thing known to mankind!.. and i agree with this part.. also my wife to be likes mario games and i know there is a shitload of them for gamecube..

for now my eyes are set on ps2.. but the dilemma is i can only afford 1.. (looking for a pc upgrade too in december so.. ).. tell me which fucking console should i get.. (i might get one in a month or two)..

once again.. no flames for crying out loud oks.. i just want some nostalgic fun which isnt available readily on PC! also with each recommendation list other good games that i should look for!

I'd say PS2. like u said, it has a HUGE library of games. now, some might call 90% of them trash. but u know what they say about one man's trash.....

then again, the xbox has somethin called HALO 2, which is worth a ridiculous amount of points in the xbox's favor alone.

SW: KotOR? that looks fun (is it gonna be avaliable for PC?).

and ORTA is one of the most immersive games i've played in my life.

don't get driven in by the graphics. imagine PS2 grainy graphics with AA and AF and u got the xbox (same res.....whoda thunk).

i have both, and i like the PS2 controller better (that analog pad is the best controller in console history in my opinion).

Xbox is good, games like:
- Colin Mcrae 3, sega GT, project gotham for good car games.
-JSRF was a let down for me, loved the first one on dreamcast but xbox version lacks all the aspects that actually gave you a challenge.
- Halo 1n2, timesplitters 2, brute force n wateva else for shooters
- Yeah panzer dragoon was good
- Oh n Fable will be xbox exclusive, thats way up on my most wanted if your into rgp's it sounds awesome
- Xbox gettin vice city too, yaay, but then thats on pc for you

Oh yeah and get an xbox s controller, I think they come with the xbox now anyway, and they are heaps better than the big chunky ones. Im used to the button layout now and find it all easier than the playstation controls

Any sega sports game, they are all good.
Toe Jam & Earl 3 (Not the best, but its cool)
Dead or Alive 3
Rallisport challenge
Dead To Rights (Pure max payne rip off, but good, and hard)
Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of war (Single player is cool, and if you get BB online kicks ass)
Project Gotham Racing

There probably a few more, but i have a bad memory.

I voted next gen by accident, but I'd have voted Gamecube. Xbox games are more similar to PC games, and Gamecube games are more original. PS2 games are varied but generally have bad graphics, and more expensive than GC (as is Xbox).

out of the choices above, get the xbox. but id sugest if you dont have one awlready, spend the money on a sega saturn or dreamcast and a handfull of games.

I tend to play Halo using a Online program called XBC. I dont do it much, but i play single bymyself and i still find games easy. Broadband isnt neccesary but you will get insane pings so really its pointless.

Also KotOR is so far not coming for PS2 or GC. Its rumors, so HAHAHA ! Im off to play it. I know Bioware caring mostly on PC version and another Neverwinter Nights expansion. I doubt it'll be ported.

I'm sure it will not be coming out for PS2. Xbox has noticable fram rate drops, so how do you think PS2 will handle it? Sure, they could downgrade the graphics, but the graphics are a major part of the game and lowering them really drop the enjoyment level of the game. The story is great and whatnot, but i hate games with totally shitty graphics. GC could handle it, but i'm not sure if it supports bumpmapping, so that would be missing. I'm not even sure if GC has pixel shaders, but it probably does. I don't really care about GC much.
