Strange Disconnect Problem - Americas Army

Hey there.. here it is

I can stay connected on Earthlink for up to 24 hours at a time. Generally I get disconnected after 2 or 3 hours, though. However, every time I play Americas Army, I can get disconnected as fast as 8 minutes! The max I've been on is about 30 minutes.

I would like to note that I don't use this computer to dialup - I share a connection, so the stress on the computer won't matter. Anyways, I'm using a controller modem.

Another strange thing is when I do disconnected, my modem doesn't report that it is disconnected, the little icon stays down there essentially forever, until I manually tell it to disconnect and reconnect. I have turned off all auto-disconnect settings, and also have talked to earth link (yeah, they were a lot of help)

It's cheaper for me to be on broadband then pay for earthlink and a second phone line.

But I cannot get broadband. It is NOT possible where I live. They have wireless broadband but I can't see the tower. Any sat. connection has to high pings to play games. DSL and Cable are about 5 years from ever being up here. I live in a national forest and connect at 28.8 - MAX, 24 on a winmodem.
