For those who works in a place that requires a tie, I got s news for you:

Back in the day when I was in my high school, we are asked to wear a tie. I bought this zipper tie and it looks like a lasso when you loose it all the way down, but looks just like a regular tie when I zip it up. It took only 1 second to wear that thing, and remains fully adjustable. So cool!

thats gotta suck if youv been wearing i really tight tie for the past 2-3 years.
What make someone take up such studies? i mean what would make you think, "hhmm a wonder if wearing my tie to tight will affect my eyes?"

I didn't see that they mentioned it, but it would seem this would apply to collars, as well. (Shirt collars, that is.)
Actually, I think neckties are pretty ridiculous. Why Western society feels a man should walk around with a useless strip of cloth around his neck is beyond me. They serve no purpose, except perhaps to give a man a means to be either flamboyant or conservative by his choice of tie.
"Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?"

The only time I ever wore a tie was back in Year 7 at the start of high school...
The school uniform said that you had to wear a tie.

Fools.. all of you! Ties are a way of showing that you are honorable and of a higher caste than common men. I read something a while ago that proved this, I'll have to find it again.

The function of a tie, IMO, is to hide the buttons on your shirt. They look really ugly.

I used to wear one Monday - Friday until I was 14 y/o. Catholic private school........
Listen to how ridiculous my uniform was: White button-up shirt with a RED tie. Green, blue, and red plaid suit jacket with my schools emblem/badge on the breast pocket, and grey dress pants.
Try wearin that crap when your a kid. Lotsa fun.

I don’t like ties. I wore a tie only once in my entire life. I have a kind of a sport stile (t-shirts and stuff). I agree with jerramaya on this one. It’s just a part of a particular outfit. And believe me it doesn’t make you a better person, from a "higher caste" caste or anything. I see thousands of people wearing a tie every day. And they look as tired and depressed as everyone else.
