Can somebody tell me if there's anything special to uninstalling NForce2 drivers, and installing the latest ones? It's easy after I reformat my hard drive because the system has no drivers yet. So I must be doing something wrong. Last time I tried to uninstall my NForce2 drivers I had serious problems. After I put the new ones in, (this is the crappy 'forgetful' part) all I remember is that I had to reformat my drive after that. It sucks that I don't exactly remember what happened, but it's been so long since I gave it a second chance, I don't recall the problems. Just the fact that it let me to wiping the slate clean.

I'm downloading the latest NForce 2 drivers (2.45's) and want to install them to hopefully get a little performace boost. But I fear I'll mess it up again. I don't want to spend the next 6 hours reformatting, recovering backed up data, and reinstalling all my programs, updates, and other drivers. So I thought I'd ask if there was any certain way to do it. I'd seriously appreciate it. Sarcastic remarks welcome. I deserve a few.

I can do video and audio drivers though! Yeah!

I have an Nforce board (no laughing please, it will be replaced soon) and have never had any trouble by just installing the new drivers, and not doing anything fancy.

Alright, well after seeing your post aphremen, I went downstairs, bit my lip and installed the drivers. It worked perfectly. I don't know what I did wrong the first time, but sure as heck worked this time. You gave me a little confidence aphremen, thanks. I"ve been using the drivers on the packaged disc since I bought the motherboard. Needed an update.

So this goes down as another bonehead question thread my coppernaut. I'll be here all night folks, be sure to tip your waitress.

If you want to remove old drivers, and install new drivers, there's a great program called 'Driver Cleaner'. You can download it from here: http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/.
