IP: Display (mainsite)

Maybe you should configure the main site so that guest’s IPs is not displayed with every post. Just a thought.;)

dude i think the users spam more than the guest.. u should not display IPs just for security purposes.. u know all the viruses and shit are roaming around the net these days.. plus u can hack another persons comp from linux by that IP shit..

it sucks.. i really think u should reconsider it!

your IP is VERY public info. i'm gonna guess displaying the IP on the main site just lets a person skip the rather easy step of aquiring the IP manually (i don't know this from experience, of course).

well, those IP's are also a valuable and adapted element to the site. i mean, what would some of our mornings be with the ability to copy and paste some IP's and find out where some visitors are posting from?

Honestly, IPs are not hidden. I can easily get all of your IPs with the click of a button. Everyone who's ever registered has shared their IPs with me. Every website I go to can save my IP. True, it does make it easier to find 'em, but it would also be easy to set up a site to do it, too.

Anyways, if you don't want your IP public, register.

i think he(as a mod) can only know the IP you registered with. you're dial up, no? your IP would be very dynamic.

I can see the IP you registered with if you haven't ever posted, I can see the IP you used when you made a specific post, and I can see the IP you're using to browse the forums. It's not like I'm gonna do anything... oh wait, WGARA said he wouldn't tell us where he's from :cool::p

The point is, I or anyone of my "Minions" could hack anyone of you at anytime, Its just alot easyer to with the IP displayed.:rolleyes:

*edit* The other point, About any dumbass can hack you if you're IP is displayed right there... And also, I belive atrip has my IP already.
