i just built a new comp and i wanted to know if i could put xp that came from my old comp on it. if so how can i do it. also i have a new hard drive.

just install it. when it tries and registers it (assuming you purchased xp and have a retail copy...) it will ask you to call a number. call the number and tell them that you have a new computer. you should be all set.
