I have windows ME. For some reason, I went on the computer today and tried to go on the interent. It gave me the common DNS error (Cannot find server) page, and so I quit. I tried running Wolfenstein: ET and it froze. I hit the reset button on my computer and tried running again. This time it froze while loading. I hit it again, and it loaded, but I still couldn't access the internet. I ran scandisk and restarted the computer normally, and it works.

What could be causing this?

(On a side note, why does restarting seem to solve most of my problems with ME?)

Ed- I think my ISP is screwed up right now, because it won't load anything, then I'll refresh and it will, then I'll refresh again and it won't load...

Wolfenstein might have froze if it tries to connect to a server when you load the game (i.e. to see whatwolfenstein multiplayer servers are available) and it couldn't get a DNS resolution. Rebooting helps with internet problems because it resets your card. When you reboot your Ethernet card must reconfigure when windows starts. You could also fix this problem by logging off and back on or by opening ipcfg and clicking "renew"

Thanks for the explanation, but I was talking more generally (ie not just the internet, but programs freezing, then running again after I restart). What was weird was Wolfenstein froze BEFORE the game was fully loaded. You don't need the internet to load wolfenstein...

Anyways, I have a feeling my ISP was just screwed up, because it's back to normal now.
