HALO stalls while installing

God damnit! I finally got Halo for computer just the way it was meant to be and now the thing won't install. I have a rip-roaring machine, so I'm pretty perplexed. Every time I try to install the game, it stops at 86% while copying sounds.map. Then I'm given the message that Halo Setup has encountered a disk error and that I should try again. Can anyone help me before I go insane?

Slap the disk up store managers ass and get a new one.. simple as that!

Make a folder (C:\Halo for example). Copy the contents of the disk to the folder. Open Setup.exe, and install like normal. Problem solved. ;)

dude. you are the man. if this works, that is. i'll try it soon, but there shouldn't be any other programs running while i do the install and i'm addicted to this new web cam i got while IMing. it's so funny.

Heh, I had to reinstall three times because it kept giving me some "Not enough memory" (with 200 MB DDR free) errors, so I just copied teh files to teh hard dribe.

I had the same problem 0n 59%. I got the other disc and everything went ok.
