All it takes to turn a modern car into a pancake like that is a 65 Dodge truck. Or Ford, if you can find one that still runs. If the person in that car lived, they probably didn't want to after they woke up a week later with no spleen and only half of a leg. Or they weren't wearing a seatbelt and got ejected, in which case they died a horrible death on-scene.

Christ dude.
I drive a 96 ford bronco. I got rear ended one time, I drove off with a simple dent and the front of their dodge durango was completly smashed in and both people were dead. I just drove off though because I don't want to mess with other people's business.
Ok...
They weren't dead. But the car was still fucked up.

I rear ended a small toyota truck in my 86 Honda Accord. I fucked my front up pretty bad didnt do jack shit to the other guy, engine wasnt damaged though. I got some friends of mine to help me pound the big 45 degree slope that the hood was in and now its just fine. Other then the fact its latched on with plastic ties and part of the hood collects water.... but it gets me to work fine, oh wait I dont have a job... better work on that....

I disagree. I think death is funny. And by the looks of it, the person, if not dead would be left in a vegetative state. Without arms or legs. Or genitals. And that's not cool.

Ugh. I really hate American cars because of this. They always make them too damn big. I'm 15 and I've been driving illegally a '96 Lumina since summer of 2002 and after experiencing this overly large Lumina which always feels like it's gonna flip over due to a horrible suspension and then driving a '95 Acura Integra, I gotta say that I prefer the Integra. I'm fairly tall for my age and yet I sitll have trouble looking past the dash in the Lumina while I can just slouch back and still be able to see all around me in the Acura... does that paragraph make sense?
A Lancer? As in Lancer Evolution or the shitty Front-engine Front-wheel drive shitty Lancer?
