Help with a wireless Problem

I need help I got a HP laptop last October It came with a belkin wireless card so I could have cable internet access from my family computer which has a belkin router so it could route internet access from the family computer to my computer. It had been working fine for a couple of weeks but one day it did not work and now I have had no internet access from around late November till now. My parents have taken in their computer. So now I am deprived of the internet at home to sum this up can anyone help me try to get my wireless connection to work again any suggestions I do not want to tinker around with their respective programs in fear of totally destroying my laptop.

if your parents took the computer.....what exactly are u going to connect to?

The router I think! we have the computer back now but we had to loose my wireless connection so they could connect to the internet and stuff I don't now why though AARRGGGGG:mad:

if it's a wireless router, then you don't NEED your parent's computer. it shares the connection, it's not a hub.
