High AM band? You mean several hundred Khz? And much the way a dog can hear a dog whistle while a human can't? That's because the dog's ears can hear those frequencies while we can't! So even though the ear, our only way of hearing, can't hear this, the human brain is somehow recieving the sound directly?

And how about this? CDs can only be encoded at 44Khz sample frequency, which kinda precludes a several hundred thousand Hz signal from being encoded on it, huh?
