xenogears

i don't like consoles nearly as much as computer games, and it's been quite a while since i played anything for either, but i'll post this anyway.

so... xenogears. imo the best game i've ever played. has anyone else ever played it, or at least heard of it? if so, what'd you think?

its always been one of those games i keep talling myself i iwll buy next time i go into EB with 20-30 bucks free...but i never end up getting it. I want to but i always find something else i want or i save my money for other things like bills and such.....damn bills..grr

but anyway i have heard nothing but good things abotu the game and am thinking about renting it and prince of persia after the break for PS2

the graphics are less than impressive, since the game is for ps1, but the game itself is incredible. if you like rpgs, you won't be disappointed.

I remember playing the demo of Xenogears back when i got Parasite Eve 2. It was only an hour long but I knew I had to buy the game when it came out. The story is incredible and though the graphics were not the best on the PS1, they didn't bother me after a while. Great music as well, and I liked the combat system.

The story is defintely the best part though, there's questions about religion and such stuff that most other RPGs haven't touched on. What I'm wondering thouh is whether the 5th chapter of the Xenosaga series will be a complete re-telling of Xenosaga or a completely new story. Anyone heard anything on this?

all i've heard are theories. a friend of mine says that xenosaga is a completely different storyline, so the last episode of xenosaga would end up being before the first episode of the xenogears saga. (xenogears said it was episode 5, if i remember correctly).

i own xenosaga (haven't played but a little though), and i've seen some of the ties between the two games, but i hear that since xenosaga is done by a different company they can't refer directly to the xenogears story.

that said, it would be completely awesome if the 5th xenosaga game was a remake of xenogears with today's technology. it was incredible before, but i can hardly imagine how much better it'd be with up-to-date graphics and such.

f I remember right alot of the people on the Xenosaga games were on the development team for Xenogears. Since Square decided it was not a game that would be as popular as the Final Fantasy series, they decided to keep its release low key and have it be more of a niche title. So the team decided to break off from Square and Namco picked up the series.
