i was just wondering what i should use. I was thinking of making the switch to ogg vorbis encoding. should i, or should i stick to mp3s?
which one do you think is better?

Good point there. I think most shit is more compatible with mp3, too. Better go with mp3. Although they all sound the same to me... The quality of the music is usually not the concern, but the hardware...(sigh), I can at least tell that much difference...

whell, the thing is, Ogg Vorbis is free.. so I would naturally choose Ogg Vorbis. Its the Linux of sound......... :)

you want the codec then just ask for it...

With the danger of seeming ignorant, why do you need a codec to listen to use mp3s? Can you listen to mp3s without a codec?

err....you can't LIVE without codecs...
everything to do with audio and video on ur system is running on some codec or the other...
mp3
ogg
avi
mpeg
divx :)
etc
