A new mod?

I would like to nominate myself as a new mod for atrip. I would not abuse my mod powers nearly as much as the current mods do, and I could help move some of the topics that are in the wrong place, and possibly censor content that shouldn't be there in the case that no other mod is online.

I know this won't go over too well with the current mods, since they hate me for some issues that I'm not even going to start with here... but I think I would be a decent additional mod, and I don't hate you guys or want to ruin everyone's fun. And I'm not going to be a stuck up whiny bastard involved with the mod conspiracy either. Wouldn't it be nice to have one of the good guys as a new mod everyone? Yes, yes indeed...

After being a member for the better part of a year, I understand why this board is one of the best on the net, and how to keep it that way. I understand if there is no further need for any more mods, but if there is, I'd like to give it a shot.

I think the answer is simply that we don't need anymore mods. As you said, best of the net, we're certainly not slacking.

What's this mod conspiracy you're talking about? Last I checked cr3amy and I weren't illuminati or anything.

Once we need anymore mods, believe me, we'll tell you guys, I already have a few canidates in mind.

Ok but I think the next time we need a new mod here there should be a election out of a list of approved candidates. That way the current mods wouldn't be controlling everything, but would have a hand in the selection. I think that would keep everything balanced well.

By the way I really dislike the way the mods (*mod*?) on this forum voice their opinions through use of the mod privileges. I think we should have an election of some sort to avoid the bias of the current mods from tainting the selection of any new mods.

Look, we don't need any new mods, we have a ton as it is.

Lastly, we really are going to be the ones to make the choice, you're certainly welcome to voice your opinion on the matter, but it'll have to be someone we can work with. That's something we determine.

Anyways, could you tell us when we've done this? The only thing I've done in month is move some threads around.

Of course, I'd like to state that my mod privledges are just a PM away for most of the members. If Chimera wanted a thread moved or deleted, all he'd have to do is say when, and it'd be edited ASAP (I tried to tell you this in a PM once, but your mailbox was full).

Thats true. Besides I don't really expect my "nomination" to really mean much of anything. To many of the people on this board I'm a "troublemaker". Trouble for who I have no idea though, but what with talk of doing horrible things to babies and whatnot, I don't see how my past actions are really that bad(unless the people offended were in the group I was targeting).

I've given my probably useless nomination incase we might need a new mod in a couple of months or so. I'm not saying anymore, since this is definately not the place to start bringup up old issues, and start a flame thread.

Yeah, I fully agree. If he was a mod, the next thing he'd be doing is banning all the gay people. Not a good choice for a mod. Personally, I would choose someone like Yian or Rad (but, I know they are too busy for that sorta thing.) They are perfect examples for mods. Wise people, with good opinions, and wise desicions/choices.

Yeah Yian or Rad would be awesome choices. If I was a mod I WOULD NOT ban gay people. I was being a complete retard a few months ago, and during the point when I "vanished" I've changed alot.( I still hold the same opnions, only I don't go venting them like I used to) It would be nice if every post from before my "vanishing" could just be deleted and for everyone to forget some of the shit that I've said. It was so retarded. My apologies to anyone I've ever offended on this forum.

Dude, don't you get it? It 's because you still HAVE those feelings, you won't get elected. Whether you'll vent them or not is not even an issue. In your head, gays are bad and that thought will cloud your judgement. Mods need to be as unbiased as possible and you are absolutely not.

They are certainly people that are capable, but they don't seem to have the time, and that's sort of imperative to the job. Yain and Rad have certainly been told that they could be mods, and are primo choices for it, but they seem to not want to be for whatever reason, and I can't blame them. Being a mod is a pain in the ass, most people get pissed off at you for no reason, just because you are a mod seems to make a lot of people not like you for whatever reason.

Regardless, my personal choice for a mod would be Hobbes. I've known him for awhile now (13 years, and I'm only 17), I can trust him, he's been around here forever, he looks good in glasses, and he knows his shit. I don't think anyone has ever said a foul word about him, and he and I munged on Halloween and that's a bond that you can't break.

Okay, apart from the munging, that was all true. Hobbes is a pretty damn good guy, he would get my vote.

But I don't get why one issue about gays could mean SO much to some of you guys, unless you were gay. I admit most of you guys wouldn't want to hurt them or anything, but some of you guys say some REALLY violent things. But when it's about gay people it becomes real, its not a joke anymore when its about them for some reason. Whereas if its about babies and stuff its perfectly fine. I definately took the issue to an extreme, I don't really feel that way about gays now as long as they mind their own business BTW, I'm working on my "issues". It was just so shocking how much support they got when someone started saying hateful things on a generally hateful forum.
