Help needed with trainer

I d/l a trainer for Mafia from Atrip, unzipped the files in the mafia directory and then ran the game. Once I'm in the game I try using the trainer but it doesn't work. Ex: 0 is to win a race, but whenever I press it nothing happens.
This is the first time Im using a trainer so just wanted to know if I was doing it right.
Btw the trainer is running in the background..

Hmm, I used a trainer at some point in Mafia too, and I recall it was buggy as hell, but since it's such a long time ago I played Mafia (it's removed from my HD atm). I can't remember what I had to do to make it work... if I do later, I'll let you know :)

Are you trying to beat that stupid race? There's another way to do it, without needing a trainer. I think it might be somewhere on there. It involves the shortcut.

Yeah dude. That stupid fuking race is fucking my head man. I even tried the shortcut ( as written in a FAQ ) but it didn't help me.
I even tried d/l a saved game but all that does is unlock all the cars and the extreme free ride.


If all this doesn't work does any one have a saved game beyond that dirty race???

Sorry for the double post but dude did u use the Fairlight trainer? cos thats the one I down loaded. I start the trainer in the game by pressing F12 and everything pops up just fine.. like press F9 for unlimited ammo, F8 for instant kills etc.... but when I press 0 to win a race nothin happens :confused:

I was able to win the race by using a controller instead of the mouse and keyboard. Have you tried that?

Dude I don't have a controller. The fuck up is that this race is just annoying and I don't want to play it. Do u still have your saved games?
