Maybe its just me but is it impossible to save midmission in IGI2?

It's really a fucked up saving system.
While in mission press "m" as I remember for map display.
Then you have to find:"headquarters" or something, and you can save your mission by clicking "Upload mission to IGI headquarters"
And you're done. There are allowed only 3 savegames/mission.
