I think it would be cool to set up a geme between us.

I would love to, but I have neither the bandwidth nor money to pay for one. Maybe once the full thing is out we could have a designated renter and everyone who plays alot could chip in.

I have it up right now. Assault, running it dedicated I'm the only one in my room suite area using the line so it shgould run fine. Name AT Server - Passcode: actiontrip. Join in and have some fun. About 27 ping, highest one on the AS server list haha.

One is XMP and the other is a Tournament game, with Bombing Run, CTF, Assault, Onslaught, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch. Not really anything the same except for the same base engine. UT is a much broader experiance in that it will ship with over 95 maps and a ton of weapons. All in all it makes for a much more caried playing experiance.

I am having problems connecting to the master server to begin with. Unreal 2003 works just fine but for some reason 2004 wont connect to master server.....grrr...

Fuck I have to go to Sarasota this weekend. I'm thinking I'll just leave the system on and the server up. I mean is it safe to do that, Temp wise and such? I'll be gone Friday-Sunday evening or Monday morning. My system won't run much except maybe 10-20% CPU usage for the server runing and that's about it. I leave my room at about 70 degrees Farenheit but I could turn it down to 65 dergrees. Please help me with this, I know we have a good thing going here with my good line and all.

I read the readme and it says I can only run one game mode only on the server. Unless you guys know of a way to do something please tell me This is the first server I've ever ran and don't knw much about it except map and bot selection and then pressing dedicated. So we will have to decide on what we want to play on AS, ONS, DM, or TDM.

a lil off topic, but damn, ut2004 keeps restarting my computer on me mid-play. it just restarts like i hit the reset switch. dunno why, this didn't happen when i first installed the game, but after playing it the 1st time, than playing it a few hours later, now it always restarts while i play. i think this is the only game that does this to me. i tried ut2003 and it seems to be working fine. anyone else have this problem? system specs in case someone could help me:

You could get someone you trust to be a remote admin I believe, they'd be able to change the map and gametype to what everyone wanted. But yeah, I'm with everyone else ONS would be great.

First up is a list of all of the maps for the retail release. As of last count, there are 105... nearly a dozen more than previously believed. You can find a complete list of maps here (http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?p=1364066#post1364066). You can also open up each map .int file (in Notepad, for instance) and read the description of each map. For instance, DM-Roughinery's description is as follows:

"Once a section of a hidden military research facility, this cold structure now hosts some of the premiere 1 on 1 duels from the Tournament. The pressure is on.....how will you handle the spotlight?"

You can also see what options the "UT Classic" mutator will contain:

* "Allow/Disallow Double Jumping"
* "Allow/Disallow Wall Dodging"
* "Allow/Disallow Dodge Double Jumping"
* "Modify Weapon Damage" (more damage)
* "Modify Translocator" (recharges faster.)

Opening the XPlayers.int file will show you a complete list and description of each playable character. Looking inside of the Speech folder, you'll see .xml files containing the commands you can give bots through voice recognition. Last, but not least, you'll find a .pdf file in the Help folder containing the entire Unreal Tournament 2004 manual. Inside you'll find complete details of the single-player ladder and more.

i finally got the speech regognition thing working. i can give orders to bots now.

first you need this shit:

then you need to enable speech regognition in the game option menu. then you need to have a key bound to activate mic (f by default). then in game, even in instant action, you can talk to the bots. its pretty limited though. you have to name the bots first: check in the F1 menu to know which bot is which (first bot is alpha, second bot is bravo, etc) then you say something like defend, attack, cover me, etc. for exemple you can say: "alpha cover me", "bravo defend", "everyone attack" and the ever useful: "alpha (or whoever) get out!" very useful for onslaught. you can also have fun with the "suicide", "jump" and "dance" requests.

the game also supports EAX 2.0 now for those without audigys. its basic echo depending on the type of enviroment but its better than nothing. for those who also have problems with the sound volume being very very low, try going in the ut2004.ini file, finding the audio section and setting the sound volume to 3 or 4 or whatever you want.

Umm prolly I leave my CPU on most of the time and the game doesn't demand that much power anyway, but one problem will be when I get off of school in the first week of May I won't have a good connection anymore so server would be gone. It would be back up in August when I return to school though.

Any of you ever had a problem with the controls on the demo? well what i am experiencing is very annoying I am in the middle of playing and my backwards key seems to be stuck, thats what i thought at first but its not my keyboard b/c i tryed my friends and its the game, for some reason it gets the backward command stuck and i cant do shit besides go backwards and move left and right, really pissing me off and i hope to hell they fix this in the full game. I can only fix it by going in the options menu and changing the backwards button to "s" again, then it goes back to normal.
