So who plans on buying this one? I just pre-ordered it from EB the other day. Also watched a few of the trailers on EA Game's website, the engine looks hella better than original BF1942.

Its Vietnam not WWII Yian. Anyway its UT2K4 for me. I've got a lot to do over the next 2 weeks though so I may hold off on the purchase until I get all my shit in order I have to do. Really a new game is not on my priority list right now, mostly cause I'm in the middle of Ninja Gaiden. I gotta read a few books and type a few papers and I'm gonna be in San Diego next weekend for a leadership conference being hosted by the National Episcopal Church.

I'll be trying this game out with my friend. After Call of Duty, we'd be silly to pass up this title for online gaming. I like these realistic settings every now and then. Both to give me more sense of just playing a "game", and to experience a bit of history through bump mapping and pixel shaders.

I don't think they did anything to the AI, except maybe make it even more stupid than it already was. A VC c an stand right in front of a GI and not shoot. On occasion it looks more like a giant tea party, not a war.

Bots really aren't the focus of BF:Vietnam, they seemed to concentrate more on the multiplayer side of the game. I can't imagine anyone buying a BF game to play against the bots, BF is about gaming against real people. The bots just plain suck.

The bots in BFV seemed slightly improved, but nothing spectacular. They at least seem to 'slightly' work together now. Travel in groups and such.

I've been playing this all day, it's great. I hate BF1942, but this is fantastic. I keep quitting and checking the clock, I'm losing about 3 hours every damn time I play.

well it kidda lags in the beginning and later on it becomes better I have a P4 2.6c, 512mb ram and Geforce 3 Ti 200 and running it with medium settings and 800x600 res. i think its my video card thats giving the problem, since for optimal performance u need a 128mb video card. :(

Awesome Fatman. Like I said in a comment on a post from 2lions, people that compare this game to ut2k4 need to pull their head out of their asses. This is much better than BF1942, and in my honest opinion, better than ut2k4. The demo barely worked online from my point of view so thats one of the reasons why I say this.

If u loved BF1942 u'll love this game too.

on another note, if you arent a fan boi of BF i suggest u go for UT2004 or Far Cry :D

Ran splendidly on my 9600pro, as long as I didn't have AA enabled. I doubt you'll have any problems.

I'm getting the game anyway and I'll take the time to tweak everything to make it run right. With new patches and driver updates coming along, any problems are sure to be fixed sooner or later.

Get both off ebay and save some cash. You have to wait longer to get your copies that way though.
