Why Bmp file only...?

It appears that both cr3am and Bluu has this problem, and I exprience this thing occasionally (But it looks likt they have this problem all the time...), but I really don't know the answer, so I wonder if someone here knows what the problem is...

Bluu was trying to get a GIF file (an avatar I made for him) but all he could do was save it as a BMP file. and cr3am says he can only save BOTD as BMP files only. Sometimes when I go to certain sites, the only option is BMP. Any one knows why? If so, how to fix this?

The reason I ask this question here is because I believe it has something to do with the internet settings...

it could be the websites have uploaded the pictures in bmp format to save space and that is what they want you to d/l I am not the greatest on this topic but that is my idea:)

Please forgive me if this sounds mean but... portzebie, do you have ANY idea what you're talking about? upload the pictures in BMP format to SAVE SPACE!? This is the weirdiest thing I have heard since "CS has better graphics than Hitman 2...!"

Sorry, being a little over the edge there... But I was really confused why you would say such a thing, and I really hope that you actually meant to say something else...:D, but I misunderstood it.

(sigh...) There is a big bowl of pasta in fornt of me (I cooked it myself!) but I'm so tired I can't eat anything...

anyways, when i do Right Click>Properties, it's a jpg (obviously), but when i do Save Target As... i can only do bmp

yeah...the gif would only save as a bmp bcos of which u guys cant see the fascinating animation of my avatar!

Ok so I was High for the first time in like a year it was my friends 18th b day and we celebrated by getting high I came on Atrip to see what was up found this thread and thought that I could say something usefull what I said has no meaning at all and especcially from your reactions i am not remotly close to a corrext answer and I should stop typing now and exit this thread.:rolleyes:

Anyone thinks that it might be the settings in the internet options? The one you get by right clicking the IE's icon? I really have no idea why this is happening. If I did, I wouldn't start this thread with a question mark. So far only portzebie came to the aid (although not much)... someone help us please...!

windows update is a dangerous thing - when you update it sends all the information of what you have installed / what's on your HD to microsoft [some people decoded the output].

I really don't think that is true. Collecting the information of our computers in such fashion is considered stealing personal property, and if this is true, they can't get awat with it and still nothing happens till now. Besides, why do they want your information anyway? With MS's money, Bill Gates can get all the porn, all the games, all the shit he wants. I really don't think that MS will use the fact that I played SOFII last night to put me into any kind of danger.

Speaking of SOFII, this game is now getting addictive. I was supposed to be working on my website, but I was distracted by this game for at least three hours. There was this dude in the bunker liked to hop over a box to get me, and I shot him right in his face with my shotgun. His head was a mess!

I got this game back in the days when I still used Geforce2 MX 32Mb, and I didn't think the game's graphic was any nice... because the setting was all low.... now, with 9700 pro, this game looks so damn sweet! 32-bit texture makes big difference! My 9700 pro isnn't as fast as it is supposed to be, though... I need to flash my mobo's bios to make the agp 4x work with 9700 pro. Asus has stated that the old bios has trouble to run higher than 2x... it goes to suspend mode before you log into windows. I didn't know why it does that untill I read an article in PC Gamer; a dude had exactly the same problem.
