Thank God for this miracle. Most kids who got kidnapped or missing for some reasons never go home again. She was a lucky girl, and the efforts everyone puts into looking for her was finally not in vein. Hope she will recover from this scary expreince, not soon, i think, but eventually...

Back in Taiwan, where I used to live, we had this really big kidnapping case going on. Our police force was notified before the media, and they decided to keep it as a secret, so the kidnappers don't know that police was already after them. They kidnapped this famous singer/actress's daughter, and cut her pinky off, sent it to Ms. White, the singer/actress I was talking about, (A single mom, so i called her Ms. White) letting her know that her daughter was actually in their hands. (I thought it could be anyone's pinky... but this is just the thing they got from that movies called 'The Randsom." Police dna team later confirmed that it WAS her pinky.)

After many months of silent workingof police, a fucking dickhead newspaper got the hints from some motherloving bastard, and they put this shit in their newspaper. Now the fucking news hit the street and every fucking one was talking about it. Police department said: "Oh-oh..."

Well, they found the girl's body in a really big drain a couple of weeks later. Thanks a lot to mass media, Ms. White's daughter was now dead. (These T's lose money for killing their one and only hostage.) they obviously thought the things were out of hands, and just tried to ditch the cops as much as they could.

It might sounds mean but killing that girl made the cops' life a lot easier. They were instructed to "shoot on the sight." One funny thing about Taiwanese police is that they were all cowards, so they liked to move as groups. The group i mean here, means a squad of at least 50 guys. They found the dudes (three of them) who kidnapped Ms. White's daughter, and they have 200 dudes surrounded the damn house. They basically just sprayed the building with whatever firearms they had. One dude became a bee hive because he was standing at a wrong spot. The other dude was shot through the head, but one dude escaped.

Eventually this escapee got into the house of a South African official, and he held them as hostages, asking police to guarantee his life if he surrender. Police basically said "Fuck you dickhead, prepare to die!" outside of the building and three teams of police rushed in, knocked his head with their riot rods at least 200 times, and dragged him out of the scene. He tried to shot one of the hostage to show that he means business, but after so many rods on his head he just can't aim very well. The hostage's leg was shot, not a big geal since it wasn't fatal. Taiwanese government issued an apology to South African Government for this.

The fucker was executed last year, I think... Taiwanese mafia contributed a lot in this case by mobolizing all the top-dog killers after him, and he was basically on the end of the road. Anyways, Elizabeth Smart is finally out of danger. Hopefully the perverts who kidnapped her get the punishment they deserve, and hope the same luck to all the kids who are still missing.

First of all tons of children go missing every day, the only reason anyone even cared about Elizabeth Smart is cause she is from a rich family. It would of been one thing if it just made the headlines in Utah but it didnt it was all over the nation. If she was kidnapped, hope it will never happen again to her... if she actually ran away, it is a good lesson that strangers are not to be trusted (except Yian), and she will never do it again.

After reading that I just wanted to ask, did you see the show where the officers who found her were interviewed? They had said how even though she was safe with them, she refused to admit it was her, and she tried to hide that it was her.

Also, she tried to vouch to keep the "kidnappers" safe, showing that she had affection for them - it's obvious that she wasn't kidnapped.

Finally, how did the officers recognize her through what she was wearing? I mean, who could notice a barely familiar person through a entirely hidden body of clothing - it's quite unlikely... perhaps it was staged?

See, you were reading the news about this case, reading the interviews ans shit, which means you cared about it. And that's just more than enough for a family who almost thought they had lost all the hope! Some people who would care!
