So I went to my local computer hardware shop to grab 2X256 MB DDR 400 CL2.5 ram sticks and paid the dude.
What I got was 2X512 MB DDR 400 CL2.5 modules and I knew that I was getting twice the ram that I am paying for. I asked the dude to check the serial numbers, and he did without identifying that it was 1 GB worth of ram. I asked Jerremi to see if the ram is right and the fucker didnt see it either. I come out of the shop and my heart starts sinking. Not the literal sense but I CANT FUCKING STEAL. Damn I have had enough chances but I just fucking cant.
So I tell Jerremi and he doesnt believe me, he sees the sticks and saying dammit one of them is mine. I say no. He says ok then return the damn thing. I go in and return the damn thing and ask for a discount. I don't get any except a thanks. I return home and now I was wondering if I did the right thing.
Well I have come to the conclusion that I have. So anyone of you pups got a chance to steal something and stole, did not steal, tempted to steal yet returned it etc.
I would love to hear a good story to calm me the fuck down. What else did i find out. Jerremi the sick fuck also can't do the wrong thing. Ha! Although he does make huge profits in selling off computer parts and pirated cds :p

Dude, that was stupid. They made the mistake, they should pay for it. Idiots like that should be punished. I hope someday your evil consience kicks in and makes you beat yourself for having done that! What a waste of a damn good opportunity man!

I am 1) religious and 2) sane enough to make a person understand his mistake rather than taking advantage of it.
well that certainly was an 85$ saving if you put it this way!

I am really not sure why but when something like this happens i get angry.
i suppose that is just the illegitimate, amoral bastard that i am.

You've just made a very grave/stupid mistake. You've already explained it to them the first time around so that should soothe your concience already. Going back in there when you could be enjoying that extra juice was just plain stupid.
Besides, you say you're religious, didn't it ever occur to you that maybe god has granted you this "gift" in light of you being such a good boy?:D

I wouldn't go as far as saying it was stupid, but damn.
even if you didn't want it there are a lot of other people who would.

or maybe it was just a test for me and passing it was what I was thinking.. ?
Anyways, what is done is done and you people aren't really making it any easier for me. Every other fucker I have asked says that you are stupid, so much for my friggin conscience. I just cant steal, no way, literally I have been given quite a few opportunities even but I just FUCKING CANT. I am not built that way!

looking at it from a moral standpoint...
critical error
ignore? retry? reboot?
*ignore*
sorry about that
looking at it from a moral standpoint you did the right thing, I have lied to people and have stolen.
i do what it takes to get the job done and I am not sure if it is a good this or a bad thing but i live by that.
some people have a sense of morals and try to do the right thing and obviously you are on eof those people.
and i hate to admit it but that is a good thing.
I am not sure if it is possible to read that, caffine allows me to function too much does the opposite.

Exactly dude. Now wouldn't you appreciate it if some one helped you out when u fucked up? That's what WGARA did. I'm guessing if he had gone away with the product the salesman would have to reimberse the whole thing himself. Now that's pretty fucked up considering these salesmen aren't paid very well.

I would of just smiled, said thanks, and walked out of the stupid schumck's shop. I've never had any problem with getting back too much change/getting the wrong thing. But, whatever helps you sleep at night.

WGARA, I share with you a quote:
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized
anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't."
~Eleanor Roosevelt
You did the right thing, I'm proud of you for it, more people should act the same way.

I agree with Smapdey. Good for you. **pats WGARA on the back** If there were more people like you. Don't listen to the negative responses. Besides you're married now, and you're going to have children someday, right? You'll want to set a good example, correct?

But seriously... Youre a good man WGARA. I salute you!!! :)

WGARA You did the right thing. I know that most people including myself would have a hard choice deciding what to do. Returning the RAM is going to be a lot easier to live with that if you had just kept it. Good work :D

I have to agree with the previous posters in saying you did the right thing. Your a good man WGARA, just a tad bit insane on the forums and possibly in real life.

btw v did said FUCK YOU to each other many times after returning the rams :D back to the dealer

About opportunities well they come in life all the time , try to get the positive ones which are always availabe but v dont bother about them, people mostly look for the negative ones,
After taking that ram v might have Scored 100$ , but the person who gave us that ram might have LOST his job for it , and after few months that ram would be as useless as any computer part becomes , so i think you should be honest yourself sometimes when it comes to opportunites and try to think positive :)

I once bought a chain that was really over $200, but I only had to pay 70 fucking bucks b/c the fucking price tag was wrong! Holy shit was I happy I rubbed it in all of my friends faces! That was the shit, I wish something like that would happen again. I love ripping people off! Damn, it must suck to be religious and have a conscience, you poor bastard if I would have had a chance like that and I would have past it up. I would have definitely cut my nuts off. Dont understand how in the hell you could have felt bad about that, its not your fault it's theres, oh well sucks to be you!

agreed. its like at school (at least for me with most teachers): if the teacher screws up and doesnt count off 10 points when he/she could have, are you going to tell him/her and possibly have the points deducted? i know most teachers will say "my mistake, keep the points," but my chemistry teacher would take them off. im honest on those occasions (and most others), but with something like 1GB RAM, i would probably keep it.

As far as the RAM is concerned my wife is proud of me too and THAT is worth more than the ram.

I could be an ass and say "One point lower than what he would have gotten if he had kept the RAM." but that would have been false.

You did the right thing WGARA, can't say I would have done the same, but it was the right thing to do. The only reason I would have kept them is because I'm way to lazy to go back and return the damn things.
JerraMaya
March 28th, 2004, 09:40 PM
WGARA was only 5 feet away from the shop :p so he cant excuse for being lazy , he knew it in the shop that they are giving him 512x2mb DDR Dual channel goodies :)
WhoGivesARatsAss
March 28th, 2004, 09:50 PM
well, scores have not really improved much.. I actually have 1 GB of ram now and I doubt 1.5GB wouldve done me any better. :p
anyways, yeah i knew it in the shop so it was kindof stealing.. tell you what i just heard from my friend that his friend went in to buy a cdrom. It didnt work so he took it back for warranty, the fucker gave him a dvd rom (accidentally) instead and he kept it. Damn what a loser (or maybe I am eh?)

WhoGivesARatsAss
March 28th, 2004, 09:59 PM
actually we have a big huge assed computer market here in my city and it has loads and loads of computer shops (think over 200).. and so his friend might have had the incident in another shop.
But still I wouldnt have taken the dvd rom either! saving 15 bucks on a drive is ridiculous
JerraMaya
March 28th, 2004, 10:13 PM
It is the biggest south asian market right now and has over 250 shops , about 75% selling computer parts and rest selling mobiles
and getting a DVD rom instead of a CD rom is no big deal
getting 1gb more ram in the cost of 512mb is one good deal what u think WGARA ?? ;)
