Help me please with RTCW

Hi all
I cant get the cheats to Return to castle wolfenstein to work..
I put in +set sv_cheats 1 in the target box (after original target) but nothing happens it says on console..cheats not enabled in this server.
I have also tried the /sv_cheats 1 command in the console. but it just says cheats are read only.

can somebody please help me...

Well this probably isnt the best place to get cheats....
I think on this game there was something about adding the cheat line to the actual exe file.

You cant use cheats in multiplayer....on a punkbuster server. But to enable them in single player, you have to do a couple things.

1) Right clik on your Single Player icon. Create another shortcut on your desktop.

2) Right clik on the new icon. Choose properties.

3) In the 'Target' line, this is what it needs to say: "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WolfSP.exe" +set sv_cheats 1

YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SPACE AFTER THE END QUOTES!!!!

I think you have to add the line "set sv_cheats 1" to one of the config files

What's really funny is if you set gravity to 0 and up the speed. Not only do you never fall, you go fast as hell.

Thats the best. Only server admins can do it though.

When youre done...dont forget to set them back to default:
/rcon g_gravity 800
/rcon g_speed 320

Yes. Most good servers dont do that shit. Only the n00b servers. In single player...I dont know...I dont play it. Single player wolf is ghey.

Hi,

I have the same problems with the 'Extended Edition' of RTCW and the cheats dont work in Single Player Mode.

I have tried adding
+set sv cheats 1
-/+set sv cheats 1 (as mentiond elsewhere)
to the Target fields (including a single blank space) in the Properties window.

Ive tried adding a txt file 'user.cfg' to the 'Main' folder in the RTCW directory with no posetive results....

When I draw down the console with the ¬ key (not the ~ key) and enter the codes, I get...
'cheats not enabled in this server'
and if I key in 'sv_cheats 1' to the console I get...
'cheats are read only'

Has anyone got any advice? :confused:

Also Ive tried Saveing Game and Reloadind it and that didnt do anything either.

Ive been looking around and found the answer..... and its not 42 :p

Start a game---
Save it---
Load it---
Press the ¬ key---
Type in '/killserver' (this takes you to the main menu screen)---
Load your game---
Enter your cheat codes.... :D
this is with the shortcut edit aswell.
