Wow... you guys have some really amazing resolution for your games... I have two monitors working at the same time, one can support up to 800x600 if the refreshing rate remains at 85mhz, and the other one supports up to 2048x1536, but it is too big to fit on my desk so it is at my shelf next to my table as a secondary. My games are always at 800x600 or lower so I can get smooth gameplay, although I don't think there will be any problem at a higher resolution since I have a Radeon 9700 pro based video card and a 2.6 P4... but it is more stable at that res with most OpenGL base games nevertheless.

Hundred Swords was released way before WarCraft III. And if you played Warcraft III already, Don't play Hundred Swords. You will be very disappointed unless you are very into Japanese Style Fantasy world.

Again, Hundred Swords has ABSOLUTELY NO path-finding system. Every unit on the map travels straight line only. You must manually click on on location, then make a turn when they reach at certain.... If you just click on where you want them to be, they will get stuck 99 out of 100 cases...

Even if you do pay attention to that, they still get stuck ALL THE TIME. WarCraft III is way better on this one, but this game, again, was old and all that...

About this try to minimize ur video options in the game , keep low or medium texture and then try to run the game it will run and load better than b4

Sorry I couldn't answer the post earlier bacause I thought someone would answer it for you. Seemed to me that I'm the first one to help you, after all... Here are some tips I could thought of...

1) Geforce4 shouldn't be slow... unless it is an MX, which means a shrinked down version of Geforce4. If you have a Dell, I'm almost certain it is a MX card. Upgrade it. If you want a new card now I recommend Radeon 9700 Pro, a true powerhouse. 9800 is even better but more expensive.

2) 256 Mb of... what kind of ram? If it is not DDR, they ain't gonna be any faster no matter what you do. Even if it is DDR, you should get at least 512 mb. Buy more rams.

3) Virtual memory won't help you on speed too much. Virtual memory uses your hard drive, and your hard drives just can't get faster than your real rams. You can make your entire hardrive into your virtual memory deposit, but it ain't go any faster. BTW, what do you when you said you "upgraded" your virtual memory? I thought all you have to do was drag the bar to the right...

4) Dell's computer has a lot of shitty unncessary background tasks, and your CPU is slowed down by these shit. Disable them.

5) If you really want a fast CPU, get an AMD one. That also means you will have to get a new mo-bo, maybe even a new power-supply. If you have money for it, why not. AMD's quality control isn't too good these days, so make sure to test your CPU. If it is a failed fucker, get refund or a new one that works.

6) If you have a real GeForce4, not a MX sucker, see if getting new drivers would help you. Also, patch your BF1942, see if the patch makes the game faster.

7) post in hardware section will get plenty more helps than this. Try that next time.

well i do have a dell and it runs well but it sometimes freezes in odd situations....well my ram is 256mb of DDR SDR ram(is that a combination) i am going to get a A new Geforce4 or Radeon..but it seems to me the radeons have more problems w/games that Geforce. and i most likely will get 512 Mb of ram...well how much would a 3040MHZ CPU cost??? Neil, it is good to hear from you and I have something to say...

1) You're welcome, we are all glad to help you.

2) Radeon had problems with games because they had crappy drivers. They now have a solid driver team and they are doing better than nVidia in certain terms... don't make your decision too soon. I'm a nVidia lover but guess what, I'm using a 9700 Pro right now...

3) Hardware problems, we go discuss it in the hardware section. Post your problems there and more people will help you.

4) ReDeeMer is very good at hardwares. So, if you're really a guy who's just "getting good", it is in my opinion that you give ReDeeMer some respect. For wht I know, though, if some one call himself "getting good", he can't possibly be any good when it comes to the PC hardwares...

5) If your computer freezes up, it is usually too busy or you have hardware conflicts. Did you put your own parts in after you got the computer? Dell sucks big tiome but it doesn't freeze... If your computer merely gets too busy, go get some soda and chips, watch a tv show, then it should get back to normal. If your CPU has a suck-ass fan, it freezes up too. Get a copper core heatsink and a bigger fan.

6) Your pics hasn't succeed in download for me so far. What is going on? What don't you just attach some pics like the rest of us? VietCong's shots so far looks sweet, and I can't wait to see yours!!! :D :D :D BMP files are not as good and easy as jpeg, so make your shots into jpeg and try again.

yo yian,u are a really great guy and so is radiatior,and redemmer,thanks for the awesome tips on hardware.well my dell is ok..it runs every game i put on it. once i get some money from some drum arrangements..im gonna upgrade big time..i take a pic on veitcong and it says attach...i find the filename and thats all i do and it never works,,,sorry guys. I have some good game pics and im gonna get some to u guys...im a little busy so do u mind posting up some prices for drivers...ect

FRAPS is what I use!:D Test your fps and capture your screenies, too! You can even capture video!( not that of a great feature, though, easy to screw up on that one and hard to get it right...)

Nice reflection on the track! :D I think motor race is more engaging than car races because you can see the people riding the bike, not just the vehicles...

It looks better in motion and at a higher resolution, i had to lower the res and quality of the image to fit it on the forum (Stupid size restrictions). When you start going real fast it adds a blur effect to stuff, its pretty cool.
