how do you all feel about voting ? are you gonna (if you're old enough) ? what issues concern you ?

this is mainly in regards to the imminent federal election north of the 49th parallel.

remember : voting is the application of democracy at the individual level, give up on voting and you've given up on the ideals of your founding fathers.

Eh, I don't know much about Canadian politics, but I think that your a fuckhead if you don't go out and vote. Thousands of troops have given their lives so you could get off your lazy ass and go fill in some circles at a voting booth. It's a basic exercise of your democratic freedom.

I miss it by five months (About). So I'll have to wait another four years. *sigh*

I don't vote because every politician is the same. They make promises and never fulfill them.

I would be voting for Bush if I was old enough to vote. I just try my best to convince some of my liberal friends to vote for Bush.

I just try my best to let everyone alone in what they vote for/believe in. Pisses me off when people do it to me, so I don't do it to others.

We've already proven that you don't know why you support Bush. Shut up.

I can vote, but I'm not sure if I will or not. Honestly, they're all the same, and if I don't vote, I can not argue and that's something I support.

I don't believe democracy works anyways, especially ours, so why bother, eh?

But that's the problem, too many people think like that, and thus they don't go out and vote (That's prolly why Bush is in office right now).

It happens to be more of a "Nothing changes because it's all the same, the world you get is the one you give away, it all just happens again way down the line" mentality

And everyone else thinks like you do, but it never gets fixed, so there is no point bitchin it doesn't work.

I'm not bitching, I'm just saying that we complain over problems we ourselves create.

what about issues ? what are you passionate about ?

if you don't like the two parties (evil and his little complicit brother ;)) vote for the green party, whether you care about their issues or not, it still sends a message to the fat cats.

people have all the power, they've just been suppressed and repressed so long that they've forgot.

It's not just that it's that the 'people' don't have a very good system of getting organized and getting enuf people off their lazy asses to do something about it.

well I live in a country where voting is compulsory, but once again I got out of that one. Reason being is that I am still a German citizen, and therefore don't have to vote for the dickheads that run this country.

dying corpse,

that's a cop out. we determine who represents us, if we don't like the job they do, then we give em the boot.

complacency is killing democracy.

how about that... i go to apply to governement... ppl LOVE my party...

so most places... my deputies get elected... they're all in favor of what I say... i then decide to pass a vote to abolish democracy... of course it passes cuz most ppl at the assembly are on MY side...

then i vote to dismantle the local police and impliment MY police...

then i order to kill whoever the fuck i want

ever heard of nazism and communism?
