Command & Conquer Generals

I need some help on how to install custom maps for multiplayer and skirmish. All read me files that I have read regarding this tell me to unpack the map files into the CnCG maps folder (C:\Documents and Settings\BGame\My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Maps). Did that, but the maps don't show up when I'm in the map selection screen....
Any help?
