Ever since I played Privateer I wondered how cool a massivly multiplayer version would be. Give it a finely crafted flight model that's similar to X-Wing but goes even further. Add tons of different ship types and ship customization. The key to it would be in PvP, as it should be. Think Planetside in space. Base purchasing for Clans, capitol ships ranging from corvettes to carriers, etc. I would want the focus of the game to be on PvP conflicts all the way from one on one dogfights to all out war between rival clans. No crafting, resource hunting, and all that other MMORPG bullshit. There are a lot of other little details in my head, but it would really take forever to explain every last bit of it in this thread.

Right now a handful of my friends and I are in the preproduction phase of building a total conversion mod for Farcry. That's all I'm saying for now on that.

Simple. Either AVP on Doom 3 engine, or a Werewolf hunting game on the Doom 3 engine. (Generally, I like the source engine better, but the lighting that Doom 3 can do, OMFG)

I will make an RPG that combines Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights, and Morrowind ogether. Gather all of their strength but none of their weaknesses.

Strength:

Dungeon Siege - Smooth loading; you can play through the entire game without any loading screen or waiting atll. Instant transition from indoor to outdoor. Awesome atmosphere with large enviroment and tightly packes trees and animals. Stable game engine with no crash or corruption.

Neverwinter Nights - Incredible gameplay adopted from D&D 3rd edition rules. Lots of weapon and armor with their own background story. Lots of interesting quests. Lots of different types of characters to play, and all well balanced. Extremely easy to use Toolset to create new modules.

Morrowind - super powerful customization allowed, such as placing a bottle on the table or sticking a shield on the wall. Lots of ways to customize your own character. Extremely open ended with a huge land to explore. A huge land!

I probabaly will be making something like this once I finish college. It will have a MMO type of world (very huge and always real time) but it will not be a MMO due to the very complex story and events that will take place (it will have a form of MP though). Instead of actual people it will have tons of NPCs that will seem very lifelike. You will be able to interact with almost everyone ( kinda like in KOTOR). I have tons of ideas and drawings already down. I will tell one idea that I really like. Pretty much All of the inhabitants in the world gain and absorb energy from the sun. They basicly worship the sun. They use energy from the sun to do everything. When night time comes it gets rather interesting. I don't really want to say much more. The game has much more than just the solar energy absorbing though. Also, there is a species of creatures on the planet that hate the sun and live underground, hints they only come out during the night.

wow all these ideas are really great

if i were to make a game, it might have to be like an RPG but in the future (sorta), or maybe the present. i havent really seen any like this (trying to get fallout and deus ex) but still, i think it would be really cool. the thief games are nice because of the combination of future and past (robots and magic) is really nice. also, while the story in all final fantasy games are all really similar, they are usually all really good and i enjoy them a lot.

so, yea, im basically asking for a game to combine all the good parts of every single good game out there, but that would sorta fuck the gaming industry up the ass with a vw bug right?

I muched rather Freelancer than Starlancer. Freelancer seemed much more "finished". Starlancer just got old for me.

I dont want to crap up this thread....but I'm with karny. Actually, you cant even compare Freelancer and Starlancer. Saying Freelancer is a sim is like saying Diablo is an RPG. They're both close to fitting into those genre's, but lack the depth.

I would make a game that incorperates elements of GTA (cities, npcs, shops etc...) RPG stat management and HALO style first/third person shooter action. Now that would kick arse!
