If u barely had the bucks, would u buy an Alienware? They look tight but i think they charge a little too much for what they give. what do u guys think?

I think you should have posted in the hardware section. As for Alienware, no I would not buy one. And why should I if I have an ability to build the rig twice as powerful for half a price.

For the valuable knowledge of how-to and the stability... which you already have both, so yeah, why.

Allienware Cases are not that cool , there are alot of better cases in the maeket now with Cheap price tags ,
One other way is too Mod your Case by yourself if you have tools and a theme in mind u can make a nice Modified case for youself
Check out these Cases (and there are many more) :
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=11-148-015&DEPA=1
Allienware Case cost between 250-300 Dollars while these are for 60 - 80 dollars

I had an Alienware, it worked fine for a long time I guess, I had a lot of problems, tech support was terrible, so I threw it out of the back of my truck. I still have it. I'll take pictures.

For computers, never, ever buy anything like Alienware or Dell. Your best bet is to buy all the custom components yourself, and build your own custom rig. And always go for full tower.
Building your own custom rig will save you alot of money, both in parts and maintenance (since you'll know how to service your comp, if you know how to assemble it). Plus, you're sure of what goes into your rig.

i have an alienware area 51m laptop. One of the old style ones. It's let me down several times. I wouldn't buy one again.
If your after a decent laptop, stick to some other company. such as dell with their exclusive ati mobility 9800 chips.

2. Fuck dell.

My rig is pretty old, standard stuff. Since i', on a tight budget, its good enough for my uni work.
Intel P4 2.4 Ghz HT
512Mb DDR Kingston
80GB HDD
GeForce 4 MX
Pretty stable, so i'll keep it to run older progs.
And yea, Fuck Dell.
